The Effects of Trampling on the Paths This aim means that I am going to find out whether people are trampling on the plants or if they are sticking to the footpaths. I am also going to find out the effects for the trampling. We chose to do these paths because Method: Method for vegetation cover: For the vegetation cover survey we had to find out how much vegetation their was across the path. This was done by placing a metric chain across the path to see how much vegetation is on the ground. We worked it out using the metric chain (shown in figure 2) because each different color equals 0.5 of a meter so if there is a lot of vegetation in 0.5 of a meter it is likely to equal 100%, if there is a little vegetation it could approximately equal 5%. This is how we recorded our results: % vegetation cover: 100% 96% 100% 100% 100% 100% 72% 0% 0% 0% 0% 10% 100% 70% 20% 68% 70% 70% 75% Method for penetrability: For the penetrability test we used a knitting needle and a ruler. We stuck the knitting needle into the ground every half meter. When it gets pulled out we measure the needle from the bottom to where it has been level with the ground. This shows us how much it has been trampled on or if people are sticking to the path. If they are sticking to the path the ground will be soft as the people haven't been compressing the soil down. This is why it helps me to answerer my aim. We would then move on to the next 0.5 of a meter and do it again. This is how we recorded our results: Penetrability of the soil 24cm, 16cm, 22cm, 15cm, 27cm, 17cm, 10cm, 0.1cm, 0.1cm, 0.1cm, 0.1cm, 0.1cm, 8cm, 16cm, 10cm, 18cm, 11cm, 13cm, 8cm, 11cm Method for height of vegetation: For the height of vegetation we measured the highest vegetation in each half meter with a ruler.

Sometimes if you want something you have to go get it. In the short story “A Worn Path” by Eudora Welty. An old lady by the name Phoenix Jackson goes on a journey to get something for someone she loves. She faces many obstacles on the way into town. Eudora Welty uses Phoenix's loving heart to show you have to do things in life for the people you love.
How does the vegetation surface type affect the amount of runoff? Speculate why this happens.
The Garden of Forking Paths is ultimately an explanation why an Allied assault on the Serre-Montauban Line was delayed five days in July of 1916. This explanation comes from Dr. Yu Tsun’s personal experience. It starts off with his plan to escape from Captain Richard Madden and his determination to inform the Leader of Germany of where the Allies were going to attack. Tsun gets an early start by taking a train. When he gets off, he gets directions to the home of Dr. Stephen Albert by a group of boys. Yu Tsun remembers a strategy of how to find the central courtyard of a specific type of maze. When he reaches Albert’s home, the gatekeeper lets Tsun in, assuming he was there to see the Garden of Forking Paths. He explains to Dr. Albert about how one of his ancestors, Ts’ui Pen’s manuscript is the labyrinth of the Garden of Forking Paths. When Captain Madden arrives, Yu Tsun shoots Dr. Albert and gets arrested. Sentenced to hang, Tsun is pleased because he got the message to the leader. He killed someone

It is very important to be very aware and cautious around railroad crossings. They can be verydangerous and getting stuck on the tracks could become a death sentence. There are multiple things to look out for and to do that will help you become safer around railroad crossings. Someof the things you should do is to always slow down when coming to a railroad crossing. Whenyou slow down you have more time to assess the situation and see if it is totally safe to go across. Another thing is you should never pass a car going the same way as you. That is unsafe and can put you in a deadly position. Trains use their horns when they approach to help and warn anyone near. When you approach the crossing it would be wise

In the neighborhood, the residents can walk to many different activities. The neighborhood has eleven playgrounds, (some which are for younger children considered tot lots), four basketball courts, a pool, a recreational center, and mailboxes at the end of each resident’s street. Seems like a lot of places you are able to walk, right? One thing missing in the neighborhood is crosswalks and crossing signs leading to each of these different places and more. This can cause a safety concern for residents, non-residents, and drivers. What I am proposing is to have cross walks put up throughout the neighborhood so residents are safe when crossing the road.

After reading "A Worn Path", I believed the story to be a metaphor about the "path of life", how one can never turn back (as one must keep going forward), that there are obstacles along the way and to overcome these obstacles, one must fend for themselves, and ultimately, there is a surprise when the journey comes to a close. Although I still believe this to be true, the more central idea that I pulled from this short story is that the path represents the everlasting mark that Phoenix will leave on the world, as she constantly sacrifices her well being in order to save her grandson, despite her physical limitations.
