This paper will summarize the article, “The Deadly Noodle”, written by Michael Hastings. In his article, Hasting discussed about the fat problem existed all over the world, then he illustrated the reasons caused the problem. In details, the article started with the problem existed in France, being vulnerable to America’s junk-food influence in recent year, especially the urban north areas, people from where are suffering from eating-related problems. Moreover, the eating-related problem not only happens in France, but also happens in many other countries, especially the developing countries, where the fast food brands such as McDonald, Coca-Cola, and Burger King have become the fashion. Furthermore, According to Hastings’ article, even traditional foods have become one reason caused fat problem, preparing from ingredients yielded more calories and less healthy roughage. As the result of eating problems, the number of overweight people has increased dramatically in United States, Europe and Asia.

With the improvement of people’s living standard and the quick speed of people’s life, more and more people choose to eat foods contained high calories such hamburger, French fries and pizza, and to stay in the home or office instead of doing exercises. As the result, the calories they ate become much higher than that they spent, causing the fat to store in their body, just as Hastings demonstrated in the article. Moreover, the reasons Hastings found about causing the overweight problem are supported by the data and the professional researchers, increasing the credibility and validity of the article. As the result, the article written by Hastings reveals the situation about the overweight problems, by reading the article, people would much easier to find out solutions to deal the problems such as eating less cooking oils and sugar, doing more
