What’s the price of a life? Does it have a price at all? Under a starless night sky in Dublin, Ireland, we are put in the point of view of a Republican sniper who is a part of the 1920’s Irish civil war. He faces many enemies such as, an opponent sniper, an informant in disguise, and, most importantly himself. In the short story “The Sniper”, author, Liam O’Flaherty reveals the horrifying consequences of war through the physical dangers and psychological trauma that the solider faces.
