On average, 400 million cups of coffee are consumed a day, but are the consumers drinking the coffee while it is still hot? Many questions could be asked about the cup you use to hold your coffee. Everyone recognizes a roasted coffee bean, but you might not recognize an actual coffee plant. Coffee beans are supposedly contained, but can grow up to 30 feet high with coffee. Each tree is covered with green, waxy leaves growing in pairs off branches. Coffee cherries grow along the branches creating the coffee bean. Later after around 3-4 years of growing, the beans are picked and grounded to make coffee grounds. Coffee has been around since the middle of the 15th century. Coffee beans were first exported from Ethiopia to Yemen. Coffee is known to be first brewed around 1000 AD. By the 13th century, many people were starting to drink coffee It is said that coffee beans were grown only in Africa and Arabia until about the 1600's. Than, Dutch introduced coffee to the Europeans. Coffee plants are the places where coffee beans are grown. There are many types of coffee beans.
