Nevertheless, social networking site have evolved in the past 10 years. It has made the lives of the people more convenient and hassle free. In fact, unlike previous generations, teenagers today do not socialize anymore in parks or in malls but they instead “hang out” and talk through the services offered by social media like the Facebook messenger. By this they do not first hand experience the real word and the problems faced by the outside community. The other downside of the social media is that the user shares nearly half of his life sharing all the moments and experience or even expose too much private information’s about him that can lead to harm or threats. Even your personal information may leak on social sites even you have done all the tight security measurements. Another bad thing about social media is that it gives rise to cyberbullying. It affects their everyday lives because they would always think how they would escape the stress and worry that is bothering in their minds. With social networks and mobile technology being so freely available in the web or even in your mobile devices it is an ongoing issue and one that is never ending. This activity does not stop after school or work hours. It is a cycle that you cannot escape and it will haunt you everyday where ever you may
Ten years ago, we did not have social networks like Facebook or Twitter, or internet for that matter. As each year passes, social media is becoming more and more prevalent. New users sign up on a daily basis to see what the buzz is about. It is natural to think social media is just for teens, but the growing number of adult users make it incredibly diverse. Worldwide, people use these sites to connect with friends, meet new people, or even to get their name known.
Most people believe that social messaging is more of a benefit than a consequence, but using social media can actually be harmful. Social media is something most kids, teens, and even some adults are using all the time. It has become a part of our generation’s lives. Having people on their phones all day long is not only disappointing, but also damaging. Instead of talking to someone face-to-face and hanging out, people prefer just texting or going on a social network. For some people understanding a life without social media is near impossible. Using social media can have some adverse effects such as: it causes cyberbullying, it can compromise education, and it could have an effect on social skills.
By now, social media had an excellent impact on our society and culture. Social websites are the most popular haunt on the internet. They have revolutionized the society in such a way that we can communicate and socialize through web and internet.
The first reason why I see social media ruining the lives of teenagers is because students have been getting cyberbullied on a daily basis. When I was 11 years old, a group of girls created a group chat with me in it and started pointing out my every flaw. I was already going through one of the hardest times with my family, but none of those girls knew. Teenagers are clueless so other students lives. No one knows what each other is going through at home. Not to mention, they think that since it is on social media, they won’t get caught or in trouble. If social media/ texting was controlled more, this wouldn’t be such a huge issue.

We have many devices such as smart phones, tablets, computers, which gives us access to an infinite amount of information. This virtual life style we are becoming accustomed to introduced us to social media. An increase amount of interaction is being built between known and unknown users from all around the world. Social networks such as Facebook, MySpace, twitter, and even tumbler have become an everyday routine of our daily lives. In this modern society, all these social media websites have brought about a significant amount of impact in many of us. It has really influenced its users on how to conduct their lives.
Social media is so popular that according to a recent article published by forbes.com, “72% of American adults are currently using social media sites; that figure has gone up 800% in just 8 years”(Olenski). Social networking was originally created to simply reconnect people with old high school pals, but in recent years it has evolved into a completely different operation. When social media first originated it was also intended for adult usage, which has in recent years expanded into the usage of all ages. Social media can create a negative affect on lives because it has been proven to be a dangerous addiction, for it takes away interpersonal relationships that are essential in life, and it has been proven to prevent people from being productive in life.
Just like the internet changed how we buy goods, research information or organize trips, it also changed the way we interact socially. Social media has become the means by which people can exchange photos and videos, share news, and stories, create blogs with their innermost feelings, and overall participate in online discussions. More than that, social media gives companies, governments or simple individuals to interact with enormous numbers of people.

Lately we became dependent on Facebook and twitter completely and other sites.
A huge problem in the last few years is cyberbullying, which is the use of electronic communication to bully a person. Another drawback of social media is that it can become dangerously addictive if the user lacks self-control. These are all unfavorable outlooks of being a part of online groups. The question is, does the favorable outweigh the unfavorable enough for a person to proceed with using social media? Therefore, I don't think social media is totally bad but I believe that it is a gift to society. I actually think that involvement in the social networking circle is advantageous for teenagers in this digital era. It provides an interval for youths to share their views, beliefs, opinions, and perspectives. It enables users to keep in touch with people all over the globe by an instant tap of a screen or by a simple click of a button. In addition, anyone is eligible to view, read and share the news of their desire. The fault in this action, though, is that false testimonies can be broadened just as quickly as true
Internet has become a vital element in people daily lifestyles. People use smart phones, tablets, laptops or computers to access Internet. By the first decade of the 21st century, many Internet users use faster broadband Internet access technologies. As the Internet users grow, one of the Internet phenomenons that can be seen is social networking. Basically, people use social media to interact among people where they create, share or exchange information in virtual communities and networks.
The internet was first developed in the late 50's and early 60's as a way of communication and method of sending data by the US military, and since then the internet as evolved into something almost everyone in the world can now access. It also introduced the world to social media. Throughout modern society social media has influenced the minds of many individuals. Social Media goes back to when Google, AOL, Myspace were the websites everyone were using. Although before it was mostly just adults that were on the internet. Now social media has started become popular amongst teenagers and even children in modern day. One of the biggest reasons to such a rapid growth of social media is because of Facebook. Since Facebook many more social network websites have began to play a part of many peoples lives like Twitter, Instagram, and many more. People of all ages started using Facebook and other social network sites because it was an easy way for everyone to interact with each other and to connect with old friends. Slowly people started spending more hours on the internet every night and it began to consume most of the time in everyone...

Based on the newspaper, “Excessive Social Media Use Harms Children’s Mental Health,” by the Telegraph shows that “children who go on social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for more than three hours a day are more likely to have mental health problems.” Social media can lead to bullying that affects teenagers mental health issue and being stressed. Social media is the fruit of the current Web 2.0 technology. It is a series of organized applications which need to have internet connection to realize their functions of producing and interchanging of the contents generated by users (Kaplan & Haenlein, 2010). To be clearer, the social media is what we use to exchange information in daily life through internet. The implementation of social media can be found all around us, especially with the development of portable devices, and easier internet access. With constant upgrading on mobile platform, and the efforts of internet suppliers, more and more people can now enjoy the social media applications and media web sites with a relatively lower constraint by time and space. Through using social media tools, people can receive or deliver information quicker and more effectively. The implementation of social media has made the earth smaller. Thus, it may bring about many impacts which may significantly change people’s lives.
The influx of social media has had a negative effect on our generation. Social media usage has been the most prevalent way to communicate in this generation. While entertaining, the negative consequences of using Facebook outweigh the positive. The popularity in Facebook has impacted adolescence negatively with concerns such the rise of cyber bullying, friends’ posts that affect our mood, which make it seem like their lives are better than ours. Also, despite their claims of bringing people together, Facebook is actually fostering the development of an anti-social society. In this essay, I plan to argue the negative effects of Facebook and why introducing Facebook into our society was a poor decision.
