The Book Thief: The Effect of Words Words are used in order to communicate with others. They might leave the other person influenced or even staggered as words can be that powerful. In the novel, The Book Thief, the author, Markus Zusak, uses words that are used to create comfort and sometimes irony. Using strong vocabulary has the chance to exploit anybody’s mind completely.
