The Amazing Titanic.
The morning of August 15, 1912, tragedy struck. The titanic was known as an “unsinkable ship”. People wondered “How did the ship sink? What went wrong?”. The titanic could have four of its compartments flooded and it still would not sink. Unfortunately 4 was too low of number. There were about 2214 people on board. Only about 711 people survived.(history.com)
All of the survivors were on the lifeboats.There were only 20 lifeboats because everyone thought that the titanic would not sink. Some of them crashed into the waves and broke. There were 472 lifeboat seats not used.There were so many open seats because people left before all of the boats were felt. They left because they did not want to be there when the titanic was fully underwater.Only 13 of the lifeboats made it safely to the Carpathia. That might seem like a long time but to the people that felt like 5 minutes. 6 of the titanic compartments flooded before the ship sank. One of the broilers burst and then another and so on. ALL of the lower class decks flooded. Women and children got on the lifeboats first.Some of the guys on the ship got shot because they were trying to pass as women. People got separated from their families. Some people never saw there family again. It was a very sad night. (history.com)
The titanic is a tragedy that will be remembered for ever. It was one of the biggest cruise ships ever to be made. The titanic made a huge impact on people’s lives. The 711 people that survived the titanic are thankful for their survival. Unfortunately, the titanic was sinkable. Even though it sank to this day people still talk about it. It might have not been unsinkable but people still had a few good memories before it sank.
