Most of us have experienced fights that have started because of a simple, one or two word text or a misinterpreted emojis. It’s not that there’s anything malicious about the text itself, it’s that the person on the receiving end misinterprets the message and reacts accordingly. Or is it the process used to deliver the message? There are different ways to communicate now a days. Texting has, in many ways, made communication easier by helping people avoid long, unpleasant phone conversations and making a quick “Hello” much easier. , texting is the preferred method of communication among the younger generation, and that trend is now being picked up by adults, who are also texting much more frequently. First, the medium through which a message is experienced shapes the user’s perception of the message. Secondly, a medium can be the message itself if it is delivering content that would otherwise be impossible to access.
When it comes to the phase of text messaging and how it relates to Mchulans the medium is the message theory. The message that text messaging(the medium) is an extension of our communication .because of text messaging there are amputations and in this instance its saying that we as a society are impressionable, the quick and easy way is the route we chose while diluting our words with extensions of Abver terms (Lol, TTYL) and emoji’s. Therefore our medium just created a whole message in itself.
Text messaging is a linear experience. Everyone using the method of text messaging participates in the same preset series of a beginning (forming the message), middle (sending text message to the receiver) and end. (Response from the receiver) When communicating through text messaging us are all working towards one conclusion (conveying a message)? Since the creation of text messaging, this idea has been integral to the planning and development phases. All of this is determined by the medium, regardless of what the message may be.
