Bottled Water has been around for a long time. It was first discovered in 1767. People are being tricked into thinking that bottled water is cleaner than tap water. However, bottled water is trashing our planet. It is one of the main things that we can eliminate to have a green earth. Bottled water is low-quality drinking water; it loses taste against tap water and costs much more. Bottled water is less regulated than tap. However, people consistently choose bottled water over tap because they think that tap water contains harmful chemicals and it’s dangerous to our health. Subsequent devices will then change this liquid into plastic bottles or jars. The social function that bottled water serves is to provide everyone with water. It’s plastic with water inside which mostly everyone drinks these days. There have been many protests that have tried to get bottled water banned permanently. The political impact bottled water would have an increase in profits. The government is planning to increase the cost which is going to be an increase in profits. The FDA may be checking the bottled water to make sure it’s safe for all consumers and may be considering of banning one of the most popular bottled water brands Nestle. Most tap water these days now contains fluoride which helps clean teeth. Bottled water does not have this. It is an essential part of life. Acidic water can cause inflammation of our bones (usually arthritis pain). Tap water is alkaline because government officials monitor it. Alkaline helps our bone development and cleans out our body. Most popular bottled water brand such as Mount Franklin, Fiji, Pump, and Kirkland are all usually acidic.. The acidity can not only affect us, but it can also affect marine life. Most marine animals need water with a PH level of 7 and above. Most turtles, shellfish, and octopus have become endangered because of this acidity. In conclusion, water in plastic bottles is a terrible idea and companies who are producing this garbage should be shut down. It would cost the city around 70 million dollars to dispose of all plastic waste If we didn’t have those plastic waste made, that 70 million dollars could go to a cause that would help mother nature. Instead of wasting our time with plastic bottles, we could give that money to people around the world who don’t have access to water.
