Everyone who says or does something that is completely inappropriate and harsh, is headed down a villainous path. Erik Fisher executes vile and offensively. In Tangerine, Erik and his buddy, Arthur, decide to laugh after one of their teammates, Mike Costello, dies. During the novel, Erik does many different things that demonstrate he is possessed or insane.
Everyone has a mentor. Most people look up to their parents, a friend or sibling, but in Paul's case it was a tangerine farmer who was also the brother of his friend his mentor was Luis Cruz. The character, Antwone Fisher, undergoes many sufferings in his young life: abandonment from his mother, physical, mental, and sexual abuse, and the loss of his best friend. As a young man in the military, he is struggling with rejection, anger, and self-doubt; using aggressive behavior as a way to protect himself from being hurt. He only begins to address these issues when the Navy requires him to seek therapy; this is when he begins to express the traumatic events from his childhood. Talking about it releases emotions that he was holding inside for so many years. The novel Tangerine, written by Edward Bloor, perfectly demonstrates how a character can change their ways and learn lessons. When the protagonist, Paul Fisher, was first introduced, he was a shy, quiet kid, who never tried to change his situation. He has a terrible relationship with his brother, Erik, and is literally terrified of him and what he will do to him. In the beginning of the book, he was moving from Houston, Texas to his new home in Tangerine, Florida. In his fresh start to life in Tangerine, he learns that he shouldn’t be scared, and that he needs to start standing up for himself and letting his voice, thoughts, and opinions be heard. Even though Paul starts off scared, afraid, intimidated, and full of self doubt, he learns that he needs to change his ways and attitude towards his life, and to take action to make things right.
Tomi and Keet were very different and similar in many different ways that we wouldn’t even imagine. Their differences can go from race to the characters in the story and how they were used. I’m going to address the differences for both sides first and we can then look at the similarities.
Pauls's Case is the story of a young man who struggles with his identity. Paul feels that he knows where he belongs, but his family and teachers refuse to support his choices. In the middle of Paul's Case, there is a switch in narration. At this point, the reader can associate with Paul and his problems. Paul struggles with both internal and external conflicts, causing him to be quite a puzzling character. From tha perspective of his family and teachers, Paul seems abnormal. From his perspective, however, he seems misunderstood.
The play Tartuffe is a comedy written by French playwright Moliere. Most of his plays were meant to critique common behaviors he saw in his society. In Tartuffe, he is criticizing those people who pretend to be very pious and religious, when in fact, they are simply pretending devotion to God to further their own personal desires.
Anderson makes effective use of fantasy to teach a moral lesson. He builds up the story in such a way that the reader does not care for the validity of the incidents. The moral lesson is that the proud and the disobedient must suffer.
