So many days have gone by during my freshmen, sophomore, and junior year that I feel like it all has been turned into one long day. I have walked through the halls of GHS countless times making my way to each class seemly going through the motions just like my fellow classmates. There are so many things that people never seem to pay attention to and so many important things aren’t noticed. Many kids are too focused on checking Facebook, Instagram, or maybe Snapchat to see what all of their friends are doing. What so many of them don’t realise is they are walking down the same hallways that you are. In today's world, people are paying more attention to the things that don’t matter in life like how many likes you have on a Instagram post, or how many favorites you get on a tweet. If you were to walk down the hallways of GHS today you could point out the “jocks”, the “nerds”, even the shy kids. What if you never payed attention and that “jock”, “nerd”, or that shy kid was gone and you never say them again. …show more content…

I remember sitting around the lunch table one day with a group of my friends. One of my friends pointed out that they saw John Turley sitting at a lunch table by himself. He asked if any of us wanted to go sit by him and none of us wanted to because we didn’t want to step out of our comfort zone. I wanted to be like everyone else so I didn’t go. This day will be forever in my mind because later that year John passed away. I learned a valuable lesson that day that completely changed my life. I learned that day that you never know when a day will be someone’s last or maybe even your last. Because one day, that kid you see sitting by himself at lunch, or that kid walking down the hallway with a fake smile on their face, might be the last time you ever see
