The problem with the homeless is always a problem ever since civilization exists and continues to be an issue that we need to resolve. The Dallas Homeless Alliance (DMA) from JCPenney is preparing a proposal to rebuild the homeless people’s lives and utilize the knowledge and skills they all have to better and support the community. The Dallas County has over 80 percent of the homeless population who live directly in Dallas and the rest are scatted around the area. The living condition is not satisfactory, and almost none of them has a proper shelter for permanent residence. There are two groups that will be the main target of our program: the individuals who are unsheltered for half a year to a year, and those who live more than eight years on the street. o Food donation is accepted at the participating churches. People can also drop-by at our events to donate food or clothes. Most of the clothes will be provided by the JCPenney retail stores and can be customized according to needs. • Staffing o We rely on the community for most of the activities and events. Volunteers sign up through our website for picking up clothing and donated food, setting up the weekly event, and driving the homeless people to work. o Cosmetologists for the grooming section could receive a tax credit by contributing their hours and other hair products. o Each event will have at least one career advisor and several security guards presented. • Marketing o We use the direct marketing with different companies for advertisement.
