In recent years, the use of tobacco products has declined among United States teens and electronic cigarettes have increased. In 2015, sixteen percent of high school students reported they used electronic cigarettes in the past 30 days compared to 9.3% use of tobacco cigarettes. Little is known about the long-term effects of vaping because they are relatively new on the market. Similar to when cigarette smoking, it took years to discover the harmful effects of smoking. However, more and more research is being conducted to prove the damaging effects electronic cigarettes may cause. In a study published in the journal, Oncotarget, researchers recently found that electronic cigarette vapor contains chemicals that are just as damaging, if not more,
Electronic cigarettes are more accessible to kids aged 18 and under. Today in the U.S there is a debate about cigarettes being outlawed. Although people in the U.S believe that e cigs should be outlawed because they are easier to access for kids under the age 18 they are causing kids to get hurt by e cigs; however some people might say E-cigs are enjoyable and are better than regular cigarettes.

Some view vaping as a harmful and dangerous practice that will re-normalize smoking in the general population (and especially youth). Others view it as a much less harmful alternative to traditional smoking, taking a harm reduction approach.” Vaping is worse for your lungs and heart than not vaping at all, but vaping is better for your lungs and heart than smoking. It can be hard to be exactly sure what’s in each batch of vape juice. This is especially problematic with flavoring, where flavors may have compounds like diacetyl, which in large quantities causes “popcorn lung” and was ruled by OSHA as an inhalation
Electronic Cigarette’s are a healthier alternative to traditional cigarettes. Compared to smoking tobacco, a vapor is a much better alternative. Cigarettes have thousands of chemicals in just one cigarette. E-cigs just have four ingredients, propylene glycol, vegetable glycerine, artificial flavors, and nicotine.
There is a new trend hitting the market known as e-cigarettes, or “vaping.” Many people believe that e-cigarettes are better than traditional cigarettes, but research shows just how unhealthy and harmful e-cigarettes are for everyone. The FDA has not yet decided if e-cigarettes should be regulated as tobacco products. E-cigarettes are marketed to help people quit smoking and live a healthier, nonsmoking life. E-cigarettes are meant to help break the habit of smoking, but why are there so many “toxic chemicals” (gilger) in the vapor?
There is quite a bit of controversy regarding the use of E-cigarettes. A known fact according to the CDC and data from the 2011 and 2012 National Youth Tobacco Survey (NYTS) is that, “the percentage of U.S. middle and high school students who use e-cigarettes more than doubled from 2011 to 2012” (Bayless, 2014; Corey et al., 2013). The advertising and targeting of children by e-cigarette companies is evidenced by the large amount of advertising featuring celebrities like Jenny McCarthy, attractive packaging including devices that look like flash drives, and candy flavorings that appeal to children such as chocolate, mint, bubble gum, cherry, and watermelon, to name just a few (Bayless, 2014; Dotinga, 2014; Madigan, 2013; Hahn, Riker, & Brown, 2014; Johnson, 2014; Weskerna, 2010). Another concern is the rise in calls to Poison Centers for nicotine poisoning. In a study by Chatham-Stephens, Law, Taylor, Melstrom, Bunnell, Wang, Apelberg, & Shier (2014) between September 2010 and February 2014, e-cigarette exposure calls increased from one in September 2010 to 215 in February of 2014. Exposure were by inhalation, eyes, and skin with adverse effects that included vomiting, nausea, eye irritation, and a suicidal death caused by intravenous injection of the nicotine liquid used to refill e-cigarettes (Chatham-Stephens et al., 2014). E-cigarettes are not regulated or approved by the FDA, so there is no control over ingriedients or their concentration. The concern as stated by Fielding, a member of the American Public Health Association, “I’m particularly concerned that this could be a gateway drug” (Big US cities, 2014). E-cigarettes are sold in numerous businesses right here...
Various American individuals debate about the need for e-cigarettes and their unpopular campaigns on helping occurring smokers and encouraging youth into smoking. In the article entitled “Can E-Cigarettes save lives?” by highly acclaimed columnist Joe Nocera, Nocera expresses his dissatisfaction with e-cigarettes’ less popularity due to their less straightforward regulated advertisements about the reduced harm compared to normal cigarettes. He strongly urges for e-cigarettes to be used in the right circumstances such as that of adult smokers rather than burgeon the youth into nicotine. Nocera successfully constructs his credibility with actual statements from expert sources, and his passionate reasoning followed by his use of potent counterarguments, however, his attempt to appeal to ethos with factual data is futile because of his lack of citation. Nocera sets the
Due to this, e-cigarettes should be readily accepted around the world. However, use by minors should still not be condoned, as e-cigarettes can potentially pose as a gateway to traditional tobacco smoking. Electronic cigarettes should also be permitted for use in public areas, since it has been proven that they are not of considerable harm to the environment. The new option of electronic cigarettes presents an opportunity to bring an end to the harm caused by traditional cigarettes that has been going on for centuries.
Electronic cigarettes are a viable alternative to smoking regular tobacco cigarettes. Recently, they have become increasingly popular because they have many benefits and do not have the harmful side effects of smoking tobacco cigarettes. Moreover, electronic cigarettes are cheaper, come in a wide variety of flavours, and do not produce an unpleasant odour. Unlike tobacco cigarettes, electronic cigarettes can be used anywhere and have no restrictions. The benefits are recognised by both health care providers and governmental agencies alike. For a great alternative to smoking, electronic cigarettes are the best option.
Electronic cigarettes have been a massive hit lately in the U.S. market. E-cigarettes do not technically produce smoke, but they do produce vapor and are not much different from ordinary cigarettes. Even though e-cigarette may be considered safer than regular cigarettes it still contains nicotine and other chemicals that are harmful to the human body. E-cigarettes can be a positive measure opposite of tobacco products, but in the long run it is no different than regular cigarettes and could lead to negative outcomes. Thus, e-cigarettes should be restricted, regulated, and be treated as “regular cigarettes.”
Welcome to the world of vaping. We all felt the delightful vape puffs that passed us, more appealing than the smell of tobacco smoke we've been using for many years. Inhalation is more than just a stylish new word, it's a new positive and revolutionary attitude to completely replace smoking. Popular electronic cigarettes were invented in China in 2004. Although many use it to quit smoking, they are not approved by the FDA. However, many believe that vaping is a healthy alternative to smoking.
Around the world it is known that tobacco products can be harmful to your body. Globally, tobacco is the leading cause of certain cancers and heart diseases. Some people may not realize that the ingredients in a cigarette are not only harming their heart, but also their mouth. Cancers can first be detected in the oral cavity since it is the spot that cigarette smoke hits first. Although smoking and tobacco use has gone down in the past years people find that it is very hard to quit. Because of this, they turn to electronic cigarettes. But what if these “e-cigs” are just as harmful to the mouth as a normal cigarette?
From my late teens, into my mid-twenties, I was a smoker. At first, it was just recreational; however that changed fairly quickly. I began buying them and smoking regularly throughout the day. It then progressed to smoking a pack per day until it was too late. I was officially addicted. I knew it was a terrible habit and I was shamed of it and would hide it from friends and family hoping they wouldn’t find out. Finally, after coughing hacking, and repeatedly getting sick several times a year, I came to the realization that I had to quit. However, it wasn’t as easy as I had anticipated. After relapsing several times before I was finally able to quit, I broke this terrible habit successfully. It was an extremely difficult habit to break and I’ll never go back. I was a lucky individual who had the mental toughness and willpower to overcome this strong addiction, but Americans struggle to quit each year, and many never do. However, there’s a new product on the market today called electronic cigarettes that are believed to aid individuals in the fight against addiction. It’s a battery powered device that heats a nicotine diluted solution into a vapor that is then inhaled. It’s believed to be a healthier, more affordable alternative to tobacco cigarettes. It is much safer because it doesn’t have nearly as many harmful chemicals as tobacco cigarettes and it’s believed to be much more affordable for consumers. However, many critics believe that electronic cigarettes are extremely addictive and just as harmful. Although electronic cigarettes are believed to be detrimental to people’s heath due to low quality product standards, harmful components in filling solution, and reports suggesting they’re addictive and just as harmful as toba...
One of the biggest problems with society today is children and young adults are turning to electronic cigarettes for a source to nicotine. It is understood that some people might think that electronic cigarettes are better for people but here is why they are not. Electronic cigarettes have the same consequences as normal cigarettes with very few differences, such as in electronic cigarettes there is no tobacco and there is no carbon monoxide. Some might not know what is really in electronic cigarettes. Many people don’t know that there are over seven thousand chemicals and cartridges in these devices. Smoking electronic cigarettes has the same effects as normal cigarettes; they as well have been known to cause cancer and other diseases. Here is why electronic cigarettes are just as bad for the human body as
Everyone knows that cigarettes are horrible for your health and increase your risks of cancer. Not too long ago there was a big advertisement for e-cigarettes also known as vaping. It was advertised to be a healthier alternative and comparable to a nicotine patch to help you quit smoking. Many people began to question this new form of smoking and if it was really a safer alternative. Even though vaping is a safer alternative than smoking, vaping is not harmless because you are still getting nicotine, inhaling poison and risking a weaker immune system.
