For a while now there had been a disagreement if college athletes should be compensated for their hard work towards their sport. Others argue that college athletes already receive compensation for not having to pay for college tuition. My point of view towards this would be that college athletes should be paid for their contribution towards NCAA. College athletes should be paid because of the multiple injuries they receive, the endless hours of training, and NCAA makes money off the players. They believe that they shouldn't get paid because they have already been giving a full ride to college and are not employees. However, if an athlete becomes injured they could lose their scholarship also if they begin to fail a class they could lose their scholarship. It is very hard for athletes to keep their grades up when they are always on the road and have multiple responsibilities. If an athlete is stressing this can affect the way they play such. Instead of the NCAA receiving all the money, they should have some of their staff salaries cut in order to give the student-athletes compensation. College athletes should be paid for all their hard work and risk they put themselves when they fit the field for a game. Such as concussions, concussions may not only be career ending but life-threatening also knee injuries forbids athletes from being the same kind of athlete this could lead to severe problems on in their life. Student-athletes train very hard each day so they can play each game at his/her very best while trying to attend class and get all of the work done for each class. The N.C.A.A makes money off of each student-athlete while the athlete receives no compensation for his or her work. These are some of the reasons we should take into consideration when thinking about paying college
