Students travel more than ten thousand miles to study abroad with so much excitement but instead they get hit by tons of changes. Sometimes it is just the language barrier that limits communication between international students and domestic people or just everything else. When domestic students hear you speak another language other than English, they think it is very interesting, little do they know it’s what’s keeping you up at night writing ESL papers for English practice. It is not always fun to study away from home, it is probably the hardest thing I have ever experienced in my life, and it doesn’t get easier though it keeps the journey to success more interesting. I was with my friends in the elevator having a conversation in our mother tongue. One of the other occupants who was American asked us where we were from after telling her, she asked us if we liked living away from home. I had never had anyone ask me that question before so it took me a minute to answer it. At first, I said I didn’t have a choice but it wasn’t the right answer because I had a choice. It was either I stay in my country or study abroad thousand miles away from home. We all come here for a better Most people are never ready for that test so there is pretty much nothing to expect from it. There is a minimum grade and if you get a lower grade than that you have to take ESL (English as a Second Language) classes. These classes take up the whole first year of college and they are very challenging. You have to read a lot, as well as write as many papers as possible to get used to the system here. It is not a pleasant experience since while you are taking ESL classes, your classmates are advancing with the curriculum. But these classes are very helpful because you actually need to be able to communicate with your professor before you even start taking the
