“It is to be regretted that the rich and powerful too often bend the acts of government to their own selfish purposes.” - Andrew Jackson The animals in Animal Farm by George Orwell face a series of leader, government, and society problems throughout the book. They face the revolution against the humans ruling over them, the leadership change from Snowball and Napoleon to just Napoleon, and the unjust changes that he made to the farm. Strong, long lasting governments, when it comes down to it, is based on the leader and how they respond to distressed situations and how they react when complications occur.

Strong governments let the people have a voice. Strong governments do not limit the people and influence to change the world for the better. Sometimes strong governments need a bad leader in order to become inspired. All governments will have conflicts with the people and with their allies and enemies but it is how they solve the problem is what makes them strong. “Some of the pigs themselves, however, were more articulate… which went on for nearly a quarter of an hour and put an end to any chance of discussion” (Orwell 24). The growls from the dogs to the crowd of animals trying to express their opinion to their leader shows weakness. Oppressing their voice is not what makes a strong government or society. In a CBS News article, Reporter interrupts Obama during immigration statement, instead of insulting the reporter for interrupting he simply said “It's not time for questions, sir. Not while I am speaking” then continued to the rest of his speech. After he finished what he was saying he went back to the question that the reported stated and responded with “The answer to your question sir - the next time I prefer you let me finish my statements before you ask that question - is that this is the right thing to do for the American people”. Correct? Someone who tells people what’s happening instead of obtaining the opinion from the people and brainwashes them with slogans is not a good leader. Especially if they gain power by force. That is a dictatorship and that doesn’t last very long; neither does fascism. In Animal farm it states “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others” (Orwell 57) With strong governments, they should not need to say these things because they are not true. All animals are equal no matter who they are. None should be more equal than others and none should be treated any differently because they are pigs.
