Strengthen service delivery systems to provide equitable and quality prevention and treatment services
GOAL
To obtain the highest quality of prevention and care services in response to the needs of vulnerable populations at risk of HIV and syphilis.
CONTEXT
The focus is to improve equitable access to quality health services. There is a need to provide quality, localized and innovative approaches to maintain and retain mothers within the continuum of care.
Service delivery systems will be based on the following foundational principles:
• Prevent new HIV infections among women of childbearing age and special emphasis groups.
• Promote access to HIV counseling and testing for increased knowledge HIV of status.
• Prevention of unintended pregnancies in women living with HIV
• Promote access and uptake of ARV drugs for all pregnant and breastfeeding women living …show more content…

• Build the capacity of healthcare providers to provide quality care and treatment to HIV-positive pregnant women, breastfeeding women, and HIV-exposed or positive children.

2.3 Create opportunities to engage men in HIV and MCH services as agents of change, clients, and supportive partners
• Encourage males to participate in decision-making and adoption of health-seeking habits in the prevention of HIV infection.
• Strengthen the focus on men in discordant partnerships to be knowledgeable transmission of HIV during pregnancy and breastfeeding to reduce the risk of transmission. 

• Scale up prevention and treatment programs that target men at facility and community levels. 


2.4 Integrate comprehensive service models within MNCH health platforms that are inclusive of HIV and syphilis care and treatment.
• Offer quality eMTCT services as a one-stop shop in MNCH settings to reduce missed opportunities, and improve service uptake and
