1. Can you tell me about your background and experience level? Answer “I received a bachelor degree in Agricultural Education at Clemson University. A minor in crops & soil sciences. I have 6 and half years of teaching experience as an Agriculture Educator.” Response Mr. Gore is the agricultural educator/FFA advisor at Crestwood High School in Sumter, SC. He actually has the degree that I am working towards, except for his minor. He graduated in May of 2010, and then took the job at his current post in July of 2010. 2. How much involvement do you as an Ag Teacher, have with students in Special Education? Answer “My schools’ special education department is pushing for CATE completion. So I have more than fair amount of involvement with students that are in Special Education classes. Most of them tend to do well in CATE. Because where general education more about Why, when we are more about the HOW. I work in close contact with my special education teacher. We work together, when we are coming up with ways to make modifications. We have students who may work towards other goals using things like wildlife terms to help them reach their writing goals. The goal is for them to gain success. A lot of the time we may partner them up when they need it, because we think it helps them and it puts my other kids in a better mood. I am really glad, that the type of kids that are in my classes are the type of kids that I can do this with. They are experienced so they do a good of helping them and by teaching the material they are mastering it
