Board of Education of Rhinebeck Central school district, the mother of the child Frank Evans, Catherine Evans filed a case for the reimbursement of the child’s education at the Kildonan School. The Kildonan School, which specializes in special education for children with learning disabilities like dyslexia. Sean has just been hired as an assistant in an after-school program for a group of 5-7 years old children. Hubert Johnson the department head of a particular company has been faced with unpleasant task of choosing between two well qualified employees, Neil and Harriet for a supervisory position. The current business that all three people work at has begun to fail and a reduction in workforce put into effect, it has become a priority for Hubert Johnson to pick a person that he believes best fits the job. The issue here is that Hubert prefers Neil over Harriet for the supervisory position. The social workers in both videos gathered information regarding each of the client’s issues. Another common denominator in both videos is that both of the social workers repeated what the client had said in their own words to allow the client to feel heard and understood. The reason for this was my cousins have special needs and their mother could not find a day care that was willing to help them. Having my cousins with me as I grew up help me understand that people with special need are no different but just need more love. This is why scenario three seemed the best one for me to choose.
I have been a Special Education Para-Educator for eleven years now. My decision to do this was based on the needs of my family and kids. When my last child was born, the doctors did not think that he would make it. He had a heart malfunction and was born with RSV and Von Villibrantds disease (which I did not find out until he was three); those factors lead me to want to work with special education kids, knowing that I could make a difference.

Social worker began session by informing client that the purpose of the session was to clarify the clients goals, how client believes she can achieve her goals, and how social worker can help client reach goals. Social worker explained what a written contract is and its purpose. Social worker than inquired about how the client has been since the last session. Client reported that she finally discussed the status of her relationship with her boyfriend. The client stated that her boyfriend did get physical during the discussion and pushed her down, but never slapped or punched her. Special education is an incredibly important, but often underappreciated aspect of education. There is a stigma around individuals with disabilities, that leads people to assume those in special education are less capable or smart as their peers in in a strictly traditional classroom setting. That could not be farther from the truth though, and the individuals in special education are just as capable of learning and maturing in to successful adults. As a future teacher, I was not really aware of how little I knew about special education until I enrolled in this course. This course has helped change and shape my views of special education, and helped me gain a better understanding of what exceptional children are and how I can better serve them
For my observation experience I went to Southern High School in Harwood, MD. Southern High School has a special education department for the students with disabilities. The teacher that I met with for this classroom observation was Ms. West. In the classroom there were at least four assistant teachers that helped Ms. West throughout the school day. The assistant teachers helped Ms. West co- teach the class and were there to help the students if they needed extra help. The school also has a couple of student aides that come in to help the teachers and the students in the classroom. There were at least twelve students in the classroom. The students in the class had many different exceptionalities such as learning disabilities, Down syndrome,
