Spain is located in the southwestern part of Europe and it occupies 85 percent of the Iberian Peninsula. The form of government in Spain is a parliamentary monarchy consisting of the Prime Minister and multiple Ministers. Spain has evolved as a nation with diverse ethnicities such as the Castilians, Catalans, and the Basques. The majority of Spain has a continental climate zone while there are a few mountain ranges and Mediterranean areas. Spain has a good health care system with a high life expectancy rate and low infant mortality rate. The Human Development Index compares the life expectancy, education, and GDP per Capita of one country to another country. Spain also has a high control of corruption score along with a high governance and investment rate. To improve Spain’s standard of living, they should improve the education system and provide more jobs for their citizens because they have the highest unemployment rate of 16%. Our trading plan was to acquire a lot of food products and energy and a little of science and technology, financial services, information services, transportation, raw materials, and business because those were the materials Spain needed most. The long term development projects we decided to purchase were education, conservation and the environment, and transparent and accountable governance because they would be the most beneficial to Spain. We wanted to make alliances with Nicaragua because they had food products, Jamaica because they had raw materials, and Cambodia because they had science and technology and those were the materials we needed. There are many positives to globalization, such as a greater opportunity for the people in Spain to economically succeed and increase their standard of living. Globalization also creates an increase in competition, forcing companies to lower their prices as well as a greater access to foreign culture in the form of food, tourism, science, clothing, and many more.The negatives of globalization include outsourcing because while it provides jobs to a population in one country, it takes away those jobs from another country, leaving many without opportunities. Additionally, different cultures are able to interact and share their ideas and innovations, but everything is beginning to mix, and there becomes a loss of tradition and culture. There will be more opportunities given to Spain than taken away, therefore the positives outweigh the negatives and globalization will benefit
