Society has different opinions of advertising, some may think that advertising is always true, and some may think that advertising is simply a reflection of society itself. Most of society are afraid that they won’t be considered “normal” or they won’t “fit in”. People want to fit in to be similar to everybody else, and the advertisers know that so they use that as an advertising scheme. They persuade people to act certain ways through their commercials or jingles, and they also try to make people do, or buy, something because they think it will make them reach a goal. Advertising not only persuades people into doing a certain thing, or acting a certain way, but they also create their advertisements by being influenced by society’s weaknesses. Most of their schemes all tie together, for example, one of society’s biggest weaknesses is not fitting in. Advertising reflects the fears, quirks, and aspirations of society, while also feeding off of society’s weaknesses. …show more content…

Society is the reason that advertisers are making money; society is giving the advertisers the ideas, and the advertisers are making the money off of it. Advertisers prey on the weaknesses because society shows them what they are. The advertisers know what society is afraid of, what their goals are, and they know that society will most likely be persuaded into buying a product just because the advertisers have almost bullied them into buying it.
Advertisers most likely know that most of society wants to wear brand name clothing; so the advertisers know that their commercials for American Eagle Outfitters, and other brand name stores will get the attention of teenagers, teenagers parents, and maybe even the teenagers grandparents. Parent’s and grandparent’s will want to buy those clothes for their children (grandchildren) so that the teenagers will be happy. The teenagers will want to buy it or receive those clothes as gifts so that they’ll fit
