Sir Isaac Newton was a famous scientist who made discoveries that impact our society today. Sir Isaac Newton was an English mathematician and physicist. He is best known for coming up with the binomial theorem, co-inventing calculus, discovering Laws of Motion, the diffusion of light, and Principles of Gravity.

Isaac Newton was born on January 4th, 1643 in Woolsthorpe, Lincolnshire in England. Being born prematurely and to a poor family, he wasn't expected to live. His father, Isaac Newton, died before Isaac was born, leaving him with his mother. His mother got remarried to a minister who did not live in the same town as Isaac’s family, so his mother moved away to go live with her new husband, leaving Isaac in the care of his grandmother. When Isaac was twelve years old, he reunited with his mother. From his mother’s previous marriage, he had 3 new siblings. He was sent to school, but his mother pulled him out because she wanted him to go work on a farm.
