Sidewalk Reflection

A sidewalk is laid with the intention to guide people. Without a sidewalk, walking in some areas would be difficult. Similarly, if an individual did not face trials and tribulations their walk through life would be complicated. Humans are faced with challenges with the intent to teach a lesson. These experiences are used as a guide to teach future descendants. Sidewalks are created section by section. In the same way, an individual's life is built challenge by challenge. Perfection is nonexistent. Underneath a person's beautiful skin lies pain. Likewise, underneath a sidewalk’s smooth concrete lies faults. In shock at first with no idea where to turn or how to move, I was scared. For years I had dreamed of being a doctor. I just knew my dream was ruined. But, somewhere deep within I found determination. I refused to be just another statistic. “Teen mom with no high school education.” I was enrolled through Florida Virtual School before and I remained. In October I delivered a 7 pound 5 ounce beautiful baby girl… A’myla. When I looked my princess in her beautiful dark brown eyes, I no longer feared being a teen mom. This precious creation was the turning point in my life. I now had all the push in the world. Success was no longer a question or doubt. This beautiful child deserves the world. I was a troubled child with heavily weighted responsibilities now. When I delivered my daughter I knew a change had to be made. It was time to transform from a girl to a woman. I molded and shaped myself accordingly. The journey of raising a child and continuing school takes a lot of determination. I stressed and worried for quite some time, but as I grew this challenge became simple. I began making all A’s. School was now a breeze. Another obstacle overcame and another color
