Numerous students question why they must attend school. To motivate kids to work hard at school, parents often utilize money as an incentive. This practice has been a controversial topic for quite a while. To pay or not to pay, that is the question.
It works like this: Student gets A’s and parent rewards them with cash. As simple as it may be, this topic has been debated over inordinate times. Why so? That is because the methods parents use with their kids will shape these kids as they become adults, whether for the better or for the worse, depending on the methods used by their parents. And naturally, parents would want the best for their children.

An NEA article reports that a large number of teachers say paying students for grades lead to practical problems in their classrooms, including pressure to inflate grades and conflict with students and parents. This means that everyone will be dissatisfied and be at war continuously, whether it is students against teachers, parents against teachers, or students against parents. Obviously, war doesn’t accomplish anything and kids will grow to resent educators for not bumping their grades up and refuse to learn and may even drop out of school. And that isn’t exactly great.
In addition, kids may stoop low to get the prize if offered money for fantastic grades. According to a study done by the University of Chicago, kids tend to find ways to get excellent grades, some of which aren’t acceptable, when money is offered. If students are truly cheating, they wouldn’t be learning anything and are just being paid for nothing. The money simply fuels such behavior, which will most certainly remain with them as adults.
