Everybody asks the question, “Should both parents take equal responsibility in raising a child?” The answer is yes. Both parents need to step up to the plate and take care of their children as equally as possible to make sure their child is provided with the proper guidance he or she deserves to survive in the real world. Even though single parents will have the opportunity to form a strong bond with their child, both parents should take responsibility in raising their children because a single parent will have difficulty in providing their child with the necessities he or she may need and the child will be exposed to unnecessary levels of stress. It is imperative that both parents do their best to take equal engagement in their child’s lives. There are certain things children can learn only from their fathers, and other things that they can only be taught by their mothers. When provided with caring instruction from both a mother and a father, a child will more than likely be capable of thriving as a person and live their life happily and to their full ability. With both of their parents standing behind them, they can feel as though they can accomplish anything and will strive to do just that. As was mentioned previously, there are some things only a father can provide and others that only a mother can. It is imperative that a child is provided with both forms of wisdom that only one parent is capable of giving.

Although women are commonly the head of sole-parent families, the Ministry of Social Development state that there is a growing rate of sole-parent fathers accounting for 14% of all sole-parents with dependent children in 1986 rising to 17% in 2006 (2010). It is evident that single-mother parenting is different to single-father parenting; however the rising rate of single-fathers suggests that the stigma of gender roles in sole-parenting is on the rise towards equality.
Everyone has experience with parenting in some form or another. Whether this is as directly as being a parent yourself, observing the cultural norms of a family, or memories of the individuals that you think of as your own parents, we all have events in our past with parenting that have helped us become who we are today. Over the course of the semester while learning about all different types of theories, practices, cultures and concepts of parenting I cannot help but reflect on my own parents and experiences with them. This connection between subjects and events is critical not only to my learning process, but to my ability to apply this outside of the classroom. Understanding these concepts when they are in practice can help me as an educator
A parent’s parenting styles are as diverse as the world we live in today. Nowadays, parents only want what is best for their children and their parenting styles plays a crucial role in the development of children which will in the long run, not only effect the child’s childhood years, but later prolong into their adult life as well.
So in every way a child is better off being with both parents rather than with only one; given that there is not some kind of abuse in the home. Again, this is not to beat up on single parents because I am one myself. I do believe single parents give it their all and they probably even give more because they are giving for two. I know first-hand that single parents give everything they have got and more, because there is no other way to survive. I absolutely commend all of those single moms and dads for giving everything they’ve got to be both parents rolled into one and to love for
When couples become parents, the first thing on their minds should be on how they will work as a team. Most parents will never choose to parent alone unless it was necessary. According to Zartler (2014), single-parenting has been a strongly pronounced trend in family behavior. Many families are single-parenting households. There are a lot of reasons that can cause a household to become a single-parenting household, and the most common reason is divorce. Most marriages just do not work out and this can cause a lot of stress within the family. There is a lot of hardships that can come with divorce including financial risks. Also, how the children will react can be hard as well. Most parents who are single parents can have a harder time dealing with the financial costs then parents that are married. There can definitely be negative impacts on single-parenting
This essay addresses seeks to evaluates diverse parenting approach by a parent-child observation. From observing developmentally appropriate and inappropriate interactions with the parent and child, I will learn how parents teach, guide, and influence their children. First, I will briefly describe basic Information of the child and parent that I have observed. Next I will discuss the parent experience with transitioning to Parenthood. Throughout the essay, I will be discussing the parenting goals and beliefs, parenting challenges and reflecting on parenting from the parent perspectives. Lastly, I will discussing my observation from the parent and child interactions.
Successful parenting may be judged by many different standards. Raising a child to be a respectful, mature, and independent adult requires a great deal of effort. There are several parenting styles, and not all lead a child to reaching their full potential. Overpowering sternness leads may lead to a rebellious child, while passive parenting may lead children to inept for the challenges of adulthood. Parenting requires more than teaching children submissiveness, or building of self-importance. Children learn best from a role model who is admirable. Parenting is a great opportunity to set the course of one’s entire life in the right direction.
The slightest dysfunction in a family structure can be detrimental to a child’s development. Children often act out and take part in delinquent activities. In order to increase a child’s chance to succeed in life, they must be raised in a stable environment involving two parents. This helps them to feel included in the family and will help build their confidence and independence later in life.
People say, “No one is born knowing how to be a parent, but it’s a process that everyone has to go through in life as they grow older and have children.” We have to do it from the style of parents that we choose who to be, not what someone else picks for us or shows us how to do.

Parents must maintain an active status in the child's social and academic life, to be able to guide the child in the most correct manner as possible. No parent or teacher is perfect, but as a parent or facilitator one must be open minded to negative development at any stage of life of a child.
There are many approaches to parenting and everyone has their own preferences as to what they think is best. In a fast paced rush around society, it is hard to know what the best choices are for your children. There is a struggle to balance what needs to be done with what can be done, and this has negative and positive feedback on the children. Parents play a critical role in shaping and guiding their children into functional confident adults. An effective parent will learn as they teach in order to grow into understanding with their children.
Parenting, which is somewhat akin to teaching, should be regarded as one of the three cooperative arts. Thus conceived, it calls upon parents to assist their offspring in the process of growing up, doing so by observing carefully the steps the children themselves take in the process and doing what is necessary to facilitate their progress. Parenting departs from being a cooperative art, as teaching does also, when it tries to be the active and dominant factor in the process -- when parents or teachers think that what they do should be like the molding of passive, plastic matter.
Meanwhile, others believe that child raising should be shared in a way that suits the family. While single parents argue that even without one parent they can give their children the needed love and care. The first point of view about whether parents should assume equal responsibilities when raising a child is that a child should be raised with all the care and love from both parents. Women and men should share their responsibilities because it is important for the children that both parents are involved and are able to collaborate with each other.
Children are the future of the world and need to be nurtured and educated in the best conditions. Thus, parenting is one of the most challenging and admirable responsibilities that people can experience. Parenting plays important roles in the development of children’s characteristics. Some people nurture children depending on their own ways. Others get advice from friends or books. Parenting can be divided into three groups: authoritative, permissive, and democratic parenting.

In the traditional society, the father’s only focus is on earning an income for the family which has a direct impact on the family members due to the lack of time spent bonding with his children and wife. The responsibility of the children falls on both parents’ shoulders, not just on the mothers. However, this is also an issue in modern society, if mothers rely too much on day-care and do not spend enough time with their children, then the same thing that happens to the father happens to the mother.
