Should kids be aloud to have phones at school Although phones can be a distraction in school kids should be able to have them to either play games, listen to music, or get ahold of their parents faster if there’s a huge emergency or to play school related games. As you know students aren't aloud to use phones in school because they are too much of a distraction and kids will always be on their phones instead of listening to the teacher and actually learning at school. Students should be able to use their cellphones in school to get ahold of their parents because of problems or any type of big emergency.if a students parent needs to get ahold of them but can’t get ahold of the office and the student has their cell phone on them they should be
“It’s a sight that’s all too common now: teenagers never looking up, glued to their cell phones every hour of the day"(Bautista). Teens are being distracted one way or another, and taking advantage of what our technology is capable of. The use of cell phones by students across the state of Pennsylvania should be prohibited because students are more likely to cheat, cell phones cause distractions, and hallways will become hazardous.
First, there is a lack of emergency accessibility. So if there happened to be an intruder in the school and a student was able to get out of the school but didn’t have their cell phone on them, they would have no way to get a hold of their parent to tell them they are okay or to get them to come pick them up. Next, more students are getting in trouble that normally wouldn’t because of cell phones. Most students use their phones in school even when there is a rule against it, so even the best students, who don’t get in trouble, are getting in trouble over having their phone in class. Lastly, there are students who pay less attention in classes because they feel the need to hide that they are checking their phone. The boom of technology and teenagers “need” for electronic communication has caused this problem. If you are asking yourself “Why hasn’t this been fixed yet?” allow me to explain. In the past, students have used their phones in school to cheat and bully each other on social media. Due to these problems, the obvious solution is not adequate, but there are some negative consequences if it is not solved. First, students will continue to use them and try to hide it from their teacher, but get caught and end up getting in trouble. Last, the teacher’s approaches to cell phones all differ and they do not take them away
Today’s cell phone is the front line technology at our fingertips. Keeping this in mind the use of cell phones have become an affair when it comes to allowing teens to use them in educational environments, such as schools. One part of society supports the use of cell phones while the other part of society disapproves the use of cell phones. I personally believe that cell phones should not only be allowed in school, but cell phones should be mandatory just like a textbook. Cell phones do not only allow students to stay united with friends and family, but cell phones are also a magnificent learning system, and they boost the liable use of technology.
Cell phones are small and portable yet provide so much to its user with being able to look up anything to calling your parents in case of an emergency or if you need to give them a heads up on something. With the way things are today people need to focus on incorporating cell phones into daily life and finding ways to make them more suitable in a classroom environment. Teachers are already doing this though with using apps that work with the whole class and can track data and usage of a student. It cannot be debated that cell phones are beneficial in school as before cell phones you would have to go to your local library and hopefully find what you are looking for. Cell phones belong in a school environment as they can be helpful and it 's a parent 's right to be able to get ahold of their
Firstly, cell phones are a useful object when needed in an emergency. When parents need to contact their kids, they would have access to talk with them on their cell phones. People say "But there's phones in the office", So? What if office staff are out for lunch? What if the emergency happens at their parent’s work place? So, what would they do? Go out and look for them? Cell phones are very useful in that situation! If an emergency happens how would their kids know when to turn their phones on? So, a good comprise would be to turn on your phone and set it on vibrate. Schools should allow cell phones in school for children's protection and safety.
Cell phones should be permitted in schools, because they can be very beneficial and practical in schools. Cell phones can be a life-saver in the case of an emergency. In New York, a violent incident has taken place. Fortunately, timely communication from a student using a cell phone saved a man who desperately needed medical attention (“Cell Phones in the Classroom”). Another student has assisted the police in arresting the suspect by giving timely updates of the criminal scene using a cell phone during the school lockdown.
Can you see yourself without a cell phone today? This world has become so technologically dependent that it is hard for anyone to not use a cell phone, a computer, or some sort of device at least once during the day. Since technology has come so far, better education should be possible. Cell phones are a way of communication and can make people feel safe, so it is hard to believe that most schools ban them. It is time for schools to see that technology is the future and it is growing rapidly, along with educational and safety features.
Many kid would say, "I need it to get picked up after school." There are phones provided at the office and located in the class room. If kids would leave there cell phone at home they would not get distracted from class. If in any case there is an emergency parents can either go pick up their child from class by going through the main office or call in the office and they will tell the child. If in a case where the child stays after school allot then their couch would have a phone that the child could use. If kids do bring their cell phone at school I believe that the first thing the teacher and kids should do is make an agreement within the whole class, for instance, the kids would only be allowed to use there cell phone for music only when it is independent work, but if I, the teacher, catch you, the kids, using your cell phone for unnecessary use I would be able to keep you phone for the rest of the day and you can get it back after school. Making an agreement where both teacher and student can benefits from the contract. Other ways to prevent students from using their phones are what I like to call Dictation Method, where the teacher at each period would collect any devices they have at the beginning of the class, have them put their names on it and put it in a zip block bag and be put in the block for the
Cell phones should not be allowed in school because children focus more on the phone than schoolwork, it creates more drama, and it promotes cheating. Cell phones should not be allowed in schools because kids are always wondering what their friends are doing and what is happening outside of school. If they have access to their phones all day, then they will be glued to them. Phones are more entertaining than a teacher lecturing at the front of the class. Most students will start to zone out, or fall asleep, when a teacher starts a lesson.
Many schools are now making new rules or guidelines to improve the educational impact that school has on students. One of these new rules or guidelines is a ban on cell phones during school hours. This new guideline upsets many students that use cell phones because they feel that it takes away their freedom. It is a privilege, not a right, that those students even have cell phones, and they are abusing their privilege tremendously. This new guideline is a superior guideline to follow, and in the long run, students will realize how this ban affected their learning experience. Cell phones should be ultimately banned for a number of reasons. Cell phones are a distraction to other students, it is a major distraction to the student with the cell phone, and there are phones in the school that students can use whenever they need.
Ever since incidents such as 9/11 and Columbine, high schools have started implementing new rules regarding cellphones. Cellphones regard the attention of building managers, teachers, parents, and students. Although teachers see them as a distraction and a way to cheat, they can be quite helpful to students. School districts should permit students to use cellular devices in school for purposes of improving their education and providing themselves a sense of security.
To begin with, cell phones are needed in school because a student can have an emergency. As teens get older they are becoming more independent. Often the only way that their parents can be sure that their kids are safe is by calling them. Imagine if there was a fire in a school and your child was the only one to know about it. He/she could call 911 or his/her parents.Or imagine if your child was stuck in the school while it was burning. He/she can call 911, her parents, or a nearby friends. Just like BubbiG(A user on Teenink) said: “Electroni...
Recently, the principal of my school has banned the use of cell phones during school hours. I agree with this policy because students could use their cell phones to cheat on tests, quizzes, or any other independent work. Another reason that I agree with this policy is, the students won’t be paying attention to the teacher if they are texting somebody else. The final reason is, cell phones are a distraction to other students who are trying to learn. Cells phones can be a huge problem later in life if the students don’t learn when to use them and when not to use them.
One thing about cellphones is that it’s taken everywhere, especially to school of course “EVERYWHERE”. Cell phones are the most important daily school supply for a student. Students have a tendency to use cellphones throughout the day, even at the most inconvenient time which is instructional time. Are you really listening and paying attention? Are you still passing? Does your teacher like or allow it? Is it beneficial for your education? Teachers say that cellphones ruin a student’s education. Cell phones are said to be a distraction for teachers while they are up teaching a lesson. 71 percent of students send or receive text messages on their cell phones in class. Schools that students have phones in school but not in classrooms had the percentages as high as 65 percent. Even the schools that ban cell phones entirely, the percentages were still indeed high at 58 percent. Some teachers prefer that cell phones should be a part of education because technology
..., students, parents and the school itself must learn to embrace it without allowing it to negatively impact the whole society. If there is an emergency, the parents or the children should be contacted through a phone in the school office. I believe mobile phones are superior to the development and escalation of mankind by making the student lives easier. All in all, it has to be said that mobile phones have tremendous potential if used with prudence. In fact, the best user is one who lets it lie quietly in the pocket or handbag and uses it with the utmost discretion. There is a purpose why the children are required to attend school. This is to ensure they gain all the knowledge and skills to prepare for their future. They are there to pay attention and they should take this advantage to absorb as much knowledge as they can to help them becoming a successful person.
