Marijuana is used frequently and used often by younger people. To be specific there are 20 million users and of those users 7.5% of them are twelve years old or older. Marijuana is a drug, that is often smoked or vaped. People smoke this to receive a “high” or a numbness to feelings. You can also ingest marijuana through food, candy, and even teas. There are effects from using marijuana. The short term effects are, people feel more relaxed. People feel calm and high. It can alter senses and vision, it can impair your judgement and coordination. It can also impair your memory and cause you to have bloodshot eyes and dry mouth. Some people experience paranoia and anxiety while smoking. These effects can last up to four hours after smoking and up to twelve hours after ingesting. …show more content…

It can irritate the lungs and cause you to have coughing, breathing issues, bronchitis, access mucus, and even asthma. They don’t know if smoking marijuana can cause lung cancer or not yet. But if you smoke while you are pregnant it can harm your baby's brain development. Most of the long term effects come from heavy use of the drug, but that doesn’t mean you can't get them from smoking only a couple of times.
