All kids have disobeyed their parents at least once in their life. It’s what being a kid means. Kids do what they think is right, without thinking about what the consequences could be. If they didn’t do this, then they wouldn’t learn any lessons. This is a part of growing up and maturing. You learn things from your mistakes and that’s how you become the person you want to be. Then the cycle repeats with the children you have. In Romeo and Juliet the main reasons kids should not always obey their parents is because, it does not help them become and individual, times have changed, and parents truly don’t always know what is best for their child.

In Romeo and Juliet, and in life today, always obeying your parents does not help a child become their own individual. Everyone is different and that is how it is supposed to be.
