Define culture and its scope.

Culture- habits, beliefs, and traditions of a certain people.
A short and simple definition. Clearly, culture defines our way of life.
But how much can culture explain? This is where cultural anthropology comes into play .To para phrase, it “deals with the study of culture in all of its aspects and that uses the methods, concepts, and data of archaeology, ethnography and ethnology, folklore, and linguistics in its descriptions and analyses of the diverse peoples of the world.” https://www.britannica.com/science/cultural-anthropology A much simpler way to explain would be to take comparative examples.

It can be via customs, traditions, rules, or written laws, i.e. informal or formal systems. 3. Religion
It tries to answers questions like the meaning of life, whether there exists a god(s) or not, and what value systems must govern one’s life. Religons can be classified into Monotheism, Polytheism and Atheism.

4. Language
The basic form of communication. It plays an important role in how people think and behave.

5. Arts and Literature
A form of passing down culture and belief, these aspects also lend an aesthetic value to our lives.

6. Forms of government
People form governments to provide for their common needs, keep order within society, and protect their society from outside threats.
Various forms are republics, democracies and dictatorships.

7. Economic systems
What production systems and distribution method are used to satisfy wants and needs with limited resources. Some examples are traditional economy (hunting, gathering), market economy (buy and sell goods), command economy( government driven) and mixed economy( economic decisions taken by both government and private individuals).

Hence, cultures will also evolve over time. A similar process can be observed in company culture.
Industry characterstics determine the corporate culture. For example, companies in the insurance and banking industries are stable and rule-oriented while companies in the high-tech industry have innovative cultures, and NGOs may be people-oriented. If the industry has a large number of regulatory requirements— banking, health care, and high-reliability (such as nuclear power plant) industries, then the presence of a large number of rules and regulations, a bureaucratic company structure, and a stable culture is natural
Even if a culture works for one industry, it might not for another.
As a company matures, its cultural values are refined and strengthened. The early values of a company’s culture exert influence over its future values. An organisation tries to preserve itself from external shocks. Organizational culture determines what types of people are hired by an organization and what types of people are left out.
