Saint Bernadette will always be one of the best saints in my heart because of the love she had for God and how mentally strong she was. I remember when I first read about saint Bernadette, I was completely blown away by her bravery. She was fighting the whole world, enduring people’s contempt without anyone to lean on. She had never once blamed God for her conditions and the situation He put her in. She had to make a lot of tough decisions and she always chose the hardest ones. Saint Bernadette was really an admirable woman. Saint Bernadette was born in Lourdes, France on January 7, 1844. Even at a very young age, saint Bernadette had to suffer extreme asthma. The Church authorities and the French government interviewed saint Bernadette and confirmed she spoke the truth, saint Bernadette was overwhelmed by the attention she was receiving from the people. She decided to go to the hospice school run by the Sisters of Charity of Nerves, where she learned how to read and write. It was what made her keep on fighting back. In her last moment, she prayed. When I think about Saint Bernadette, I feel ashamed of myself, because I don’t think I will ever be able to stand against people alone.
