In this novel there are a pair of star crossed lovers who end up having a gruesome end. Who is there to blame for this tragic ending? Why did they have to die? They didn’t have to kill themselves did they? The summary of this story is Star Crossed Lovers, trying to be together but their family’s hating each other being in the way of being together. The main reason why they couldn’t spend time together was because of their family fued. The most valid reason why they couldn’t be together was because of how their families are enemies. He is part of the Capulet’s which means he is a relative to Juliet, and a very ignorant person. Tybalt is rude and completely despises the Montague’s, and whose part of the Montagues? Romeo! The reason why he’s a jerk is because, Mercutio, Romeo’s Best Friend, invited Romeo to a Capulet party, even though having regrets Mercutio just says, come on. And Romeo’s off to the party. Since this is a Capulet party, of course the King of the Capulet sees him, but then he’s kind because Romeo wasn’t doing anything bad and it was a party, it was to have fun. But Tybalt, did not like how Romeo was at the party and was even ready to kill him, but the King threatened Tybalt not to, so he didn’t. But when they met he wanted to fight but Romeo didn’t, so there fighting, and Tybalt ends up killing Mercutio, and Romeo is mad because of this because that was his best friend, so he kills Tybalt out of revenge, and now Romeo is banished from the land and can’t see Juliet. If Tybalt would’ve just wouldn’t have done that then Mercutio wouldn’t be dead neither would he, and Romeo wouldn’t be banished. Tybalt: “This, by his voice, should be a Montague. Fetch me my rapier, boy. What! Now, by the stocks and honor of my kin. To strike him dead I hold it not a sin.” (1,5,53). This shows how Tybalt hate the Montagues and hates how Romeo is their. In Romeo and Juliet, there are many guilty parties that contribute to the deaths and demise of Romeo, Juliet, Mercutio, Tybalt, Count Paris and the many other victims of the bitterness and grudge between the Capulets and the Montagues. However, the three most culpable parties are the set of opposing parents; the Montagues and Capulets, the prince; Escalus of Verona and ultimately the lovers, Romeo and Juliet. The blame lies mostly on these three parties because their decisions greatly influenced the outcome of this Shakespearean tragedy. In this essay, I will prove and condemn the prince, parents and lovers for the losses of life and the confusion in Romeo and Juliet.
Why is it that we as human beings feel the need to blame someone for every negative situation, which occurs? Tybalt’s loyalty towards the family dispute intoxicates him with a quarrelsome nature. After recognizing Romeo at the Capulet Ball, Tybalt persistently rejects his uncle’s remonstrance to stay serene. Even after being restrained by his Uncle Capulet, he vows vengeance on Romeo in the future as he says, “Patience perforce with willful choler meeting Makes my flesh tremble in their different greeting. I will withdraw; but this intrusion shall Now seeming sweet, convert to bitt’rest gall” (1.5.88-90). Tybalt tends to take each and every “insult” towards his family and himself to heart, without even contemplating their true meaning. Furthermore, Tybalt’s aggravating behavior develops into a clear factor leading to his downfall. When Mercutio is found dead as a result of Tybalt, Romeo confronts him directly with a duel to the death. Rather than trying to discuss and come to a harmonious solution, Tybalt further inflamed the already belligerent environment. He does this by saying, “Thou, wretched boy, that didst consort him here, Shalt with him hence” (3.1.128-129). The three are responsible for their death because of their marriage and the plans they made to avoid having to get remarried. The families are also responsible for the death of the two because they did not let the two be together and forced them to marry others.

Soon Romeo kills Juliet's cousin by accident, Juliet drinks a potion, some words get twisted and at the end both of the lovebirds end up dead. At the end of the story both families are devastated that both of their children pass away, but there are also many unanswered questions. The most asked question in the story is “ Who's to blame? ” and overall I believe everyone has a little part in influencing their death, but I believe that one person is to blame for most of this and I believe that it is the mother and father of Juliet.
