I was sitting in theatre class when I heard Mr. Grape announce that we would be performing Romeo and Juliet for our end of the year play. I love Romeo and Juliet. Even though some people think about killing themselves, I think it’s romantic. I’ve read it over and over and over again and the more I read it, the more I love it. All of the sudden, the most annoying kid in theater, Jimmy, yelled out, “We shouldn't do it the way everyone else does it. We should show how it is a cautionary tale about the stupidity of youth and shallow lust.” I felt my cheeks get red in anger. “It’s not like that at all! By the time I made it to theater class I was ready to pass out. I walked in right as the bell rang. The whole room was split into 2 sections. “Choose a side.” someone said. “Ummm…..What's the difference?” I asked. “The other side is the people who think Romeo and Juliet is a beautiful story and whatever,” some kid said in a mocking tone. “And this side is the smart people that believes it is a cautionary tale about the stupidity of youth and shallow lust.” I felt tons of eyes staring at me as I walked to the side that thought it was beautiful tragedy. I glanced around and notice my side was mostly girls and the other side was mostly boys. My eyes locked with a very handsome boy with short, black, wavy hair and sparkling brown eyes that crinkled at the corners as he smiled at me. I smiled back. At the end of class, he came up to me and my stomach did a somersault. “Hey,” He said. “So you side with the romantic people that thinks it’s a beautiful tale or whatever?
