Romeo & Juliet Essay Imagine you tell your parents about a boy you like, his behavior is questionable but you like him anyways. Your parents don’t like him and claim that you shouldn’t date him, your upset and angry with them. But what you don’t realize in your rage is that they are only trying to protect you, if they had let you date him he could have led you down a disastrous path of self destruction and failure. So be thankful they stopped you. I believe parents should have a say in who their children can date, without that their kids could get very hurt. Some can argue that if parents let their kids date whoever, they can learn first hand the effects its has on them both positive and negative. One reason for why parents should have a say in who their children date, is hidden in the play Romeo and Juliet. In the well known Shakespeare play Romeo and Juliet two teenages fall in love quickly, their parents had forbid them from loving one another but that did not stop the two. The pair fall in love and have an outside relationship only having Fiar Laurence and Juliet's Nurse know of the twos relationship, in a couple of the days they even marry. Which causes some problematic behavior, such as slow processing and bad decision making. I believe parents have the right to guide their children's decisions making. Teenagers also are blind to the dangers of falling in love with someone, they don’t think things through all the way. They need some guidance from an adult with experience, and I think it's best for the parents to decide on who their children date. Teens make stupid decisions, it's only in their best interest for their parents to watch over them. ( The Teen Brain
