The name of the criminal selected is Katherine Knight, who was the first woman in Australia to be sentenced to life imprisonment without parole for the murder of her partner, John Price in 2000.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF ALLEGED CRIMINAL ACT COMMITTED:
Knight had a tumultuous relationship with Price over the years with previous reports of violence. Sometime in February of 2000, the two got back together and Knight showed up to her partner’s house before Price got off work. She then proceeded to send his children away to sleep over at a family friend’s house for the night. She possibly could have committed this crime because of what he did to her daughter and wanted to prevent it from happening again. Furthermore, Knight and Price had a tumultuous relationship and frequently fought. Knight could have had an emotional lapse after another argument that was common in their relationship, and emotionally broke down, which caused her to momentarily lose her sanity. She even noted immediately after that she could not remember what she had done earlier that night to her boyfriend. Her children are, perhaps, the most important thing in her life that does not involve instigating fights and other things of that nature. Any supposed threat made to her children causes her to lash out in an extremely protective manner. An example of this can be viewed with the murder of John Price. Although whether the allegations against Price if he raped Knight’s daughter, Knight lashed out and proceeded to murder her boyfriend. Although to a lesser extent, we can also see this with her sibling whom she felt protective of. As a child, whenever she felt like someone threatened one of her siblings, Knight would immediately retaliate.

Except for her siblings, her relationship with other members of her family growing up was extremely abusive. Even as an adult, Knight did not have much of a relationship with them except for occasional communication between her and her mother. Even though the two talked, the relationship was unhealthy. Her mother did not care to help her daughter seek psychiatric care and even tried to sabotage her marriage with David
When conducting research for my project, I came across a website that contained a few primary sources regarding the Salem Witch Trials. One of these primary sources was the photo of a legal document explaining the death warrant and reasons for execution of a woman named Bridget Bishop. Bishop was claimed to be a witch in Salem during the year 1692, and the document explaining her significance involving witchcraft resides in the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts. My thesis for this primary source is that the judge and jury believed they were seeking justice by executing Bishop, a woman whose death was truthfully based on her differences as a person rather than actual crimes she committed.
Rosa Lee Cunningham is a 56 year old African American female. She is referred to the facility from Howard University Hospital. She was treated for a condition called osteomyelitis, which resulted from a bacterial infection while using heroin (Dash, 2006). Rosa Lee states that on October 7, 1983, she injected cocaine, which resulted in her being hospitalized at D.C. General Hospital (Dash, 2006). Prior to her hospital visit in 1983, she injected heroin, cocaine, and various substances. After a horrible breakup with her girlfriend, she used heroin for the first time (Dash, 2006). She stated that she uses speed ball of cocaine, heroin mixed injection as well as Prelundin, occasionally (Dash, 2006).

I will be evaluating the case of Angela and Adam. Angela is a white 17 year old female and Adam is her son who is 11 months old (Broderick, P., & Blewitt, P., 2015). According to Broderick, P., & Blewitt, P., (2015) Angela and her baby live with her mother, Sarah, in a small rental house in a semirural community in the Midwest. Adam’s father, Wayne, is estranged from the family due to Sarah refusing to allow him in the house however, Angela continues to see him without her mother’s permission which is very upsetting for Sarah. Angela dropped out of high school and struggles raising her son (Broderick, P., & Blewitt, P., 2015). On June 9, 1959, 12-year-old Lynne Harper was raped and murder, her remains found two days later, near Clinton, Ontario. 8 In September 1959, Steven Truscott was convicted for all crimes committed against Harper. Truscott was only 14 at the time and was initially supposed to be a death row inmate, with the sentence later reduced to life in prison. This is important, because 48 years later in 2007, he was exonerated of all charges. This case shed light on the problems of the criminal justice system, as the conviction of Steven Truscott was a miscarriage of justice brought upon by police tunnel vision and suppression of evidence.

Alison does not depict the knight in the nicest light. I guess she is the one "painting the lion" in this case.
The journals expose two different attitudes because these two authors have different personalities. Knight is intolerant with others. Rosa Lee Cunningham is a 52-year old African American female. She is 5-foot-1-inch, 145 pounds. Rosa Lee is married however, is living separately from her husband. She has eight adult children, Bobby, Richard, Ronnie, Donna (Patty), Alvin, Eric, Donald (Ducky) and one child who name she did not disclose. She bore her eldest child at age fourteen and six different men fathered her children. At Rosa Lee’s recent hospital admission to Howard University Hospital emergency room blood test revealed she is still using heroin. Though Rosa Lee recently enrolled in a drug-treatment program it does not appear that she has any intention on ending her drug usage. Mary Katherine, a young adult with sociopathic behavior, displays her disorder with frequent outbursts, lack of remorse and disregard for social norms throughout the novel We Have Always Lived in The Castle by Shirley Jackson. Her sociopathic tendencies are constant in the novel with mention that this behavior has been consistent since she was a child. Mary Katherine progressively shows her volatile actions in the story and her actions cause way to a multitude of problems for anyone in her path, especially her close older sister Constance. Her personality disorder coupled with her schizotypal disposition is inherent and not due to being spoiled or temperamental despite her being raised wealthy in a large household.

Otherwise he would have been beheaded, but was spared because of his looks. Was this justice? Indeed it would have been justice back in the 1300’s because if you were beautiful you could be spared and do a noble deed for the king/queen as they asked. If you did not complete it who knows what could have happened. But for the knight, he completed what he was told to do and in fact after he raped the woman and he was being prosecuted, the journey of his made him find the true knight inside of him. The old woman choice that was offer to the knight demonstrated that he learned his lesson through his sufficient punishment and redemption for his crime.
Amanda Wingfield cared mostly about her children's well being. Though “her foolishness makes her unwittingly cruel at times, there is tenderness in her slight person” (Fambrough, 1). Amanda cared for her children's health, appearance, and future while also being concerned with what they do in their free time. Amanda “lives only for her children for whom she sincerely wants happiness and security” (Tholl, 1336). “The key to Amanda’s character is her heroism” and had Amanda been a bad mother, she would have lived in oblivion.
