Religion Affecting Older People's Mental Health

Following my introductory paragraphs, in my body paragraphs, I will examine how religious intervention impacts older people's mental wellbeing from examining the following three critical parts: religious belief, practices, and spirituality. The first part of my paper will show how religious beliefs, a set of ideas or ideological commitments, form opinion, play an important role in an individual's mental health. Religious beliefs having a positive effect on mental health has been recognized by the scientific community. Studies have shown that religious beliefs can provide support through way of enhancing acceptance, endurance and resilience and may allow a person to reframe or reinterpret events that are seen as uncontrollable. Religious spirituality, in contrast to secular spirituality, is a more intricate and thorny issue because it is associated with deep values, a central philosophy of life, and is believers' subjective experience of a divine being that is a deeper, transcendent parameter of personal experience than rituals, dogma, and institutions. Because of this complex and multidimensional phenomenon, I will use the interdisciplinary studies (e.g., psychological and theological perspectives) to theoretically assess the positive connection between religious spirituality and mental wellbeing, To support this, I will provide empirical findings that practically back up the theories. Religious spirituality is a vital experience of the elderly. Researcher suggests that spirituality is highly correlated with positive successful aging.
