To build a relationship with a Buddhist, all one would need to start is to be tolerant and respectful of another’s worldview. Looking for a common ground with someone’s beliefs helps with creating a foundation. Asking someone to share their beliefs with you, is a great first step regardless of their worldview. As Paul said, “in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others” (Philippians 2:3-4, NIV). A major barrier in presenting the Christian gospel to a Buddhist is principally that it has deep origins in historic events and has a basis in worshiping God.
