This standard was put into practice through my activity plan and I could see the results in my video reflection. As the teacher, I created developmentally appropriate instruction that considered my students ' strengths and needs in order to enable each student to advance his or her learning. When creating the trees activity plan for my second grade students, I knew how to prepare my instructions based on the students ' specific strengths. For example, I knew that all of my students were advanced and in order to challenge the learners, I kept the labels to the tree hidden until they had finished putting the tree together. Gluff, manages the learning environment by organizing and coordinating the resources of time and space to effectively engage learners. The teacher encourages self motivation and active engagement in learning each day as well. Mrs. Gluff has all of the students sit on the carpet at the beginning of the day to review the calendar and go over math problems. When the students come to the carpet, there is one student each week is in charge of calendar time and the money time. Self-directed learning is created by having one student make the final decisions to the teacher 's questions. I create a learning experience for my students by selecting the appropriate curriculum goals and standards that are relevant to my students. I plan for instruction based on prior learner knowledge and student interest. For example, my students enjoy hands on activities that include coloring and decorating. Therefore, when I am thinking about what kind of activity I want to do with the second grade group, I always keep that in mind and incorporate creative activities. As the teacher, I think about the short- and long-term goals when creating the activity plan to meet the student 's learning
