How does reality show celebrity affect the young generation? In the modern life, media always play a significant role in influencing the popular culture and people's behavior. Recently, the new pop culture is reality television appeared and made the change. These shows have a strong attractive to a lot of individuals, especially teenagers. There is not any success without the value of money, and reality television so. However, because of the profit, reality television skip the effect to the viewers and create a bad culture to the young generation. Based on many critic and activist, reality has adverse consequences on people, especially young teenagers because distorting how young viewers perceive life, perpetuating harmful racial, gender and other stereotypes, and self-esteem at the teenager.

However, after doing the research, I changed my thesis statement to the impact of reality television on the youth.Overall, the three source that I found was graded as excellent based on the CRAAP test. For the first article that I found, “Celebrity culture” by Howard Altman, I got a base knowledge and the background of entertaining media and the impact on people. I also found many high quotes from this article such as “They [celebrity] have to maintain an image and a lifestyle and income”(Howard 249), “[M]ore they [teenagers] believe that happiness comes from money, fame, and beauty.” (Howard 248). The second sources are more relatable to my thesis which is “Reality TV” by Maryann Haggerty. This source is cover the most information that I want for my paper. It also let me found more keywords “celebrity obsessed” and help me find out the third source which is “Women Big Losers In Celeb-Obsessed World?” by CBS News, and the book “Think: Straight Talk for Women to Stay Smart in a Dumbed-Down World” by Lisa Bloom.
