A career in the medical field would be the utmost accomplishment to me as science has always been a strong interest of mine. Experiencing the hardship of A-levels was made easier, knowing that my end goal would be partaking in a medical profession. Growing up in an area fuelled with gang culture and experiencing the loss of a cousin as a result of this, has only asserted my decision to pursue a career where I help others and better their lives. What I find intriguing is how much the world of science has changed as a result of the advancement of technology. This is why I chose to pursue a career in radiography. After looking further into the degree, I felt drawn to diagnostic radiography because I feel as though my expertise would work well with using imaging techniques such as x-rays to monitor disease, as well as having a patient care role. …show more content…

Studying biology has allowed me to appreciate and understand the complexity of the human body, and enhance my knowledge on bodily processes. In particular, I enjoyed learning about lung diseases and the human heart. I found it captivating how substances found in everyday food diets such as cholesterol and fatty acids can increase one’s risk of getting a myocardial infarction. Chemistry has heightened my understanding of molecules and how they react and cooperate with each other and how various conditions can affect their rate. Mathematics has developed my ability to be more pragmatic when interpreting data and has allowed me to exercise my skills of thinking logically when problem solving, whilst studying English Literature has allowed me to enhance my writing and analytical
