Many people migrate or move into the United States of America because it is a multicultural nation. Many folks from different nations and cultures represent America. As the nation is a place full of immigrants, this country till date is facing racial discrimination. Racial discrimination according to the urban dictionary is “when a person is treated less favorably than another person in a similar situation because of their race, color, descent, national, ethnic origin or immigrant status”. Indeed racism and discrimination has been a broad topic which can never be solved because many people are still practicing the act in societies causing larger problems. Recently in New York City the “stop and frisk” law was passed causing mostly African Americans, Muslims, and Asians to be targeted and stopped by law enforcement to be humiliated in many different ways. Police officials and officers use racial profiling to determine or arrest people who have no criminal records or have not committed a crime. In addition, some people in the society believe racial profiling is a gateway to prevent crimes and should be practiced. Law enforcement believes “great tactic” is an effective way because it helps lead to deter crimes, but I disagree because racial profiling is a divisive issue especially in the United States. Police officers do a great job using race as the number one tactic to stop people. One of the biggest issues in my opinion is people failing to realize how racial profiling can affect the lives of black males growing up. I believe if someone is forced to be seen as a criminal by everyone, they have no choice but to be a criminal and the police does an excellent job portraying this
