According to Nilda Flores-Gonzalez most of those who drop out of school dropout because they lack in motivation. She states that those who dropped out of school dropped out due to unexpected family issues, and/or personal problems. To others school is just a wastes of time. It was not as important as their jobs were. Some of the students dropped out because they did not have the time, some had to work at night and did not have time for homework. Since they did not have the time for school and they were already doing poorly they decided that the best thing they could do at that moment was quit. They even become involved with school activities. Those who don’t are afraid of the school programs to get in the way of their education. Sadly some of those student who have dropped out and have returned to school keep doing poorly. They know that they need to improve on their grades and absences, but they don’t try their best to make a difference compared to their old behavior it. These students barely pass their classes and they graduate with the use of little effort. Staying in school can be a challenge. The students who decide to go back to school spend extra years in school in order to get ready to graduate. For many students who have dropped out of school they have the option to get a GED, but most students look forward to getting their high school diploma because to them it is more valuable than a GED. As a high school student they get a ceremony when getting their high school diploma. They get to walk across a stage in front of a lot of people, and most importantly in front of their family. They want to prove to themselves and to others that they can do it. They want to change the way they are being perceived by society. He doesn’t want to give up on the student’s ability to do something extraordinary with their lives. He wants kids to prove that they can do anything if the propose it to themselves.
Dropping out of school brings many problems to the lives of many young adults. Dropping out of high school decreases the chance for young adults towards getting a higher education.
Having a job is known to get a in the way of the education of many students. When a student prefers to spend most of his or her time working rather than studying, than it becomes an issue where a job gets in the way of a student’s education leading him or her to drop out..
Yet, according Claude Montmarquette, Nathalie Viennot-Briot, and Marcel Dagenais a guy named Turner figured out that a student who did not have a job would spend a minimum of eighteen hours a week watching television and about one to four hours studying. Turner said that a job would not have an affect towards a student’ education if he or she worked at least twenty hours a week.
