Nowadays in the era of globalization, students are encouraged to have work part-time that will create them to become more experienced in their future, teach them to become more independent and mature in real life. Although the students have enough money to pay their fees and able to accommodate the necessities of life but we totally agree that the working part-time should be encouraged because work part-time can give more benefits to students. According to King and Bannon (2002, p. 2), more than 50 percent of full-time students have jobs and “nearly 46% of all full-time employed students work 25 hours or more.” As students work more, they have less time to become engaged in campus life both inside and outside the classroom. Many students love to have part-time jobs. Their parents approve it easily as they are said to gain experience from working. However, having a job is a big responsibility for a student. Before, teenagers at their age were working to help their family because of poverty. Nevertheless, they were actually eager to study and learn at school for their future. It was not the same as the students nowadays where they are more likely competing to each other to have a job. Most of the students are working part-time jobs and some have the intention to work. When we are in any fast food restaurant, supermarket or shop, there are must be school students who are working. Besides, students can gain a lot of experiences, students should be encouraged to work part-time because they can learn new skills and learn how to manage their financial properly.

They need to find a way to integrate both study and working for example they should simply create a systematic schedule that emphasize the time to spend working and assignment given by teacher or lecturer. This way will help students to easily follow the schedule created so that they can balance the time to learn and work. For the majority part of his essay, he only exerts his own personal observations to make conclusive remarks regarding teenagers’ employment.
In the article “Working Through College Pays Off”, the author Randy Raterman show his idea about agreeing students working through college by using particular details. He supports that working through college can stimulate students undertake education more seriously, teaching them responsibility and supports their parents financial burden. First, the author thinks working students take hard works to exceed at school and quit tiresome jobs. It motivates them to study harder. Secondly, students understand the payment for college, which takes responsibility from taking job. In addition, the pressure of deficient funds for education can cause problems between the parents. Students spend four years of their lives attending high school. Going through high school is mandatory as it prepares them for college and strength to face “the real world.” Having part-time jobs has become the phenomenon among high school students and many students follow this trend as well. Moreover, there are some pros and cons attached with it. Though it may seem like working throughout high school is a bad idea, it could better prepare students for “the real world.” Although some people believe that the primary duty of a student is studying, I am of the opposite position. I strongly support the idea that high school students should work throughout high school. This is because they can earn money, become responsible and get experience.
Today high school student is getting the job experience by working at McDonald’s or other fast food restaurants. Working a McDonald’s is not an easy job because the shift hours are not stable and income is not very high. High scholars are thinking that working at a fast restaurant is going to gain an income easily, especially for those in a middle class family that needs a part time job to support their self. It might be a bit of a struggle for the high student to learn to manage their time schedule between school and work. In the essay, “Working at McDonald’s,” Amitai Etzioni believes that high school students working at McDonald’s can destroy their future. He explains very clear through his point of view that if high school students choose to work at McDonald’s or any fast-food places, it would be a waste of time because they only take advantage of them. Etzioni think that these high school students are set for low paid job because if they don’t continue with their education path then they are stuck or don’t have any other opportunity. On the other hand, I agree and understand his point. High school students are falling behind in school, but I don’t see that working at McDonald’s is what causes them to end their future.
Those who take on student debt when enrolling into college, result in needing to find a job immediately after school in hopes of paying their debt off soon. Reporter of Upromise, Diane M. Whitmore, published the article “Learning and Earning: Working in College”, which offers college students statistics of their working experience due to tuition. She states that “after four years, college students who had worked 20 hours per week at an off-campus job were 8.7 percentage points less likely to have graduated than non-workers.” Students who cannot afford to have a large amount of debt, work and therefore have less time for their studies.
But many low-income students not only have a full-time course schedule, they also have jobs where they work more than 30 hours per week. Approximately one-quarter of college students’ work while attending school and have both a full course-load and a full-time job (Carnevale, Smith, & Melton, 2015). Working helps students with the living costs as well as tuition and can help students learn skill sets that many employers prefer. However, there are problems with having full-time work while going to college.
First, grade inflation reduces students’ efforts that they put into school and “helicopter” parents exasperate this problem. According to the authors James E. Côté and Anton L.
