Parents want the best for their child, don’t they? In the education world, the child’s best interest should always be the first priority. Making sure the child is happy and well prepared for the future is of the utmost importance to ensure their successfulness in life. Holding back a student is believed to be harmful to their development, but is actually ensuring the student’s preparedness for the future. A child’s self-esteem may be damaged when they enter the next grade level without fully grasping the previous curriculum and realize they are not at the same learning level as their peers.
