One of the biggest challenges after you get your puppy is to potty train him. Unfortunately most dog owners don't spend the time to learn how to properly potty trained their puppy. If you take the time to research the right training techniques then this can be a fun learning process for you and your puppy. In this article, I will share some of the most effective tips and potty training techniques that I have personally used with my own dogs.

You should start potty training your puppy as soon as he comes home with you. It is important to set up a house breaking routine as soon as possible. You should discuss your house breaking routine with your family ahead of your puppy's arrival so that everybody is onboard.

What you want to do is always have them in the same room as you so that you can monitor what he does and catch him in the act. Otherwise your puppy will learn to go do his duties in the separate room far from you. I recommend that you close doors inside your house and employ the use of baby gates to limit your puppy's access.

Puppies will always want to go to the bathroom after waking up and playing. So after these activities, it is important that you bring your puppy outside otherwise he will do his duties in your house. You can also tell when a puppy needs to go to the bathroom as he will start to sniff the ground briefly before going urinating or pooping.

Do not get discouraged! It takes time and consistency to really get your dog to understand what you want. Remember to keep rewarding him and encouraging him whenever he does his duties outside. Never get angry at your puppy as that will only make him fear you, instead you just want to be clear on the information that you give
