If you take the time to research the right training techniques then this can be a fun learning process for you and your puppy. In this article, I will share some of the most effective tips and potty training techniques that I have personally used with my own dogs.
You should start potty training your puppy as soon as he comes home with you. It is important to set up a house breaking routine as soon as possible. You should discuss your house breaking routine with your family ahead of your puppy's arrival so that everybody is onboard.

What you want to do is always have them in the same room as you so that you can monitor what he does and catch him in the act. Otherwise your puppy will learn to go do his duties in the separate room far from you. I recommend that you close doors inside your house and employ the use of baby gates to limit your puppy's access.
Puppies will always want to go to the bathroom after waking up and playing. So after these activities, it is important that you bring your puppy outside otherwise he will do his duties in your house. You can also tell when a puppy needs to go to the bathroom as he will start to sniff the ground briefly before going urinating or pooping.
Do not get discouraged! It takes time and consistency to really get your dog to understand what you want. Remember to keep rewarding him and encouraging him whenever he does his duties outside. Never get angry at your puppy as that will only make him fear you, instead you just want to be clear on the information that you give

People of different ages, young and old, will love having a dog or a pup around. They even treat them as their best friend. Nevertheless, you must also think of the possible consequences that come with owning one. Effective Dog Training is necessary for your dog and you should understand you have to make an effort to socialize your dog. You have to expose your dog to the outside world, so that it will not intimidate other people.
Some dogs are simply stubborn. With these types, it may take extra diligence on your part to succeed in training. Keep your dog leashed, even in house. By having a tether to your dog, you can easily redirect him from doing something he shouldn't without having to always revert to a time-out in the his crate.
It all starts with education. Time magazine published an article about how all dogs need to be subject to balanced training, should be well socialized and taught proper human/dog social behavior maintained from a health perspective, and treated with compassion (Enos, 2014). Meaning that no matter the breed, all dogs need proper training. It also comes with responsibility
It’s common for puppy mill dogs to be scared of other animals and humans, they have a lack of socialization with animals and humans, which is a problem. “The first months of a puppy's life are a critical socialization period for puppies. Spending that time with their mother and littermates helps prevent puppies from developing problems like extreme shyness, aggression, fear and anxiety” (A Closer Look at Puppy
Beginning on the second month, you can now start feeding your puppy some gruel and slowly wean them off their mother’s milk. You can do this by mixing wet or dry puppy food with a canine milk replacer. These replacers are sold in liquid or powder form. Powder is recommended because it has a much longer shelf life and is considerably less expensive than liquid canine milk replacer.
1) After watching an episode of The Office that had one of the characters use a distant form of classical conditioning with his coworker, I decided to try it myself. I had used my mouse to try this type of automatic conditioning. The unconditioned stimulus I used was a treat and the unconditioned response was salivating and eventually coming towards me. The conditioned stimulus I used was a ringtone from my phone. I used a short delay between the ringtone and the treat, which made the desired results successful.
In the 1980s, operant conditioning began to influence many animal training techniques, and the shift from dominance training to PRT began. The dominance method is still slowly being replaced by the positive reinforcement method as researchers continue to better understand animals and their behavior (Eberhart, n.d.). Where dominance training uses punishment for its effectiveness, PRT uses rewards and praise to achieve a desired behavior. A behavior is rewarded by giving the animal something it wants or likes in order to increase the likelihood that the desired behavior will continue to occur (Veeder, Bloomsmith, McMillan, Pearlman, & Martin, 2009). Positive reinforcement trainers most typically use “verbal cues, hand signals, treats, clickers,
Dogs should be trained to be around people and other pets at an early age. Training a dog to listen and obey is the most important factor (Marketwire). A dog can simply be bored and want to play aggressively. No matter the breed a dog can always be trained not to be violent (“CAUSES OF DOG”). An improperly trained dog can turn out to be mean and aggressive. Also allowing your dog to practice these behaviors will cause them to adapt to them. Exposing a dog to new things will help it become comfortable with them and recognize them. Dogs use their bark as an alarming system (Marketwire). Knowing when and why a dog is aggressive is a key factor for changing this
Your pet needs to know that you are the “alpha” of the house. Alpha is like the pack leader. A dog should always listen to their owners. Correct inappropriate behavior as soon as possible, so your puppy does not gain dominance.
“Puppy-mill kennels can consist of anything from small cages made of wood or wire mesh to tractor- trailer cabs to simple tethers attached to trees” (“Dogs”). “Dogs are often kept in cages with wire flooring that injures their paws and legs”(“ASPCA”). This information can lead one to believe that the dogs do not get proper exercise or play with toys. Like humans, dogs need exercise. It is wise to take house dogs on walks throughout the day.
These dogs are also used as companions for their owners, or whoever they help. According to the book “Praise for A Big Little Life”, most dogs, including the main dog in this story, are taught things that you wouldn’t imagine they could do on command. If a person in a wheelchair needed their dog at all times and they didn’t have time to let their dog out to go to the bathroom, the dog will go to the bathroom on command so that the owner can keep track of the dog at all
There are some people who think that a puppy automatically knows everything to do. For example they think that puppies know they shouldn't chew on shoes and furniture. But just as a child or toddler becomes bored and explores his surroundings, so puppies do the same. Young dogs have a seemingly inexhaustible supply of energy to run and play, and if not thoroughly exercised by playing appropriate games such as Fetch, they will become destructive inside the house. Another misconception related to being exercised is behavior. If a puppy is kept in a crate for eight hours a day and then let out only to go to the bathroom, then the puppy will have listening issues because the puppy has been confined and needs to run around and the owner refuses to oblige it. Also as young puppies, it is important to socialize them frequently with both multiple different animals and people. If not, the animal could act lovable to a family, but when a stranger comes into the yard, the animal could turn into a ferocious beast that could cause traumatic accidents to anyone. Dogs can be socialized simply by having friends come over to the house for a few minutes a day just to say hello. By taking a little time and energy and applying these simple rules, a new dog owner can have a wonderfully loving
