The question of whether there is other intelligent life form beside humanity has been in great academic discourse for much of the last century. Many conspiracies about intelligent life forms have emerged and inspired many great works of art in various genres. Although definitive proof of their existence has yet to be found, the search for intelligent extraterrestrials have lead innovations to new heights in space explorations. This research will attempt to show with good reasons that it is unlikely for intelligent extraterrestrials to exist, but the possibility of microorganisms to live beyond our solar system is plausible. Schick and Vaugh define “extraterrestrial” as an intelligent being foreign to earth. They articulated that there …show more content…

Tripler argued that for intelligent species to exist, we have to assume that their technological advancement would surpass ours. Humanity currently spends so much money into their technology and yet they are not as advanced as it could be. The type of technology we assume the intelligent extraterrestrials have are centuries ahead of our time. The cost of such technology does not even exist yet and it took us millions of years to get to where we are today in terms of human technological capabilities. To get the kind of technology we assume intelligent extraterrestrials have, they have to have evolved and live centuries ahead of the millions of years since human existence. Mathematically, Tipler showed that the amount of time required for other intelligent species to possess these kinds of advance technologies now would be an impossibility (267-268). For other species to have the kind of technology that surpasses even that of our own they would have to have lived and evolved millions of years ahead of our …show more content…

Theories of genetic mutations underlying the origin of any species contradict what we can assume about the existence of a more intelligent extraterrestrials to be possible with biological limitations in the progression of evolution (15-38). The amount of time for natural selection and mutations to get us to where are today would assume that a more intelligent species would undergo the same type of adaptations and mutations. This is not the case for the kind of advancement we assume about intelligent extraterrestrials would violates many evolution constraints based on what we understand about human biology. It is not possible for an intelligent life forms to coexist with humans, but their evolution processes are much more advanced. There is a small chance that this can happen to a more intelligent species within the time frame of human
