In the 19th and 20th century the Europeans attempted to colonized the continent of Africa, but ended up having setbacks because of disease and lack of transportation. The year is 2030 and America is debating on if they should try to colonize South America like the Europeans did with Africa. The united states should colonize South America because the continent has a lot of valuable resources and the perfect climate for planting crops and grazing animals. Colonizing is smart because America can acquire valuable resources from it. From an article about colonization.“Diamond and gold were discovered in southern africa in the 1860s and 1880s. Suddenly adventurers from all parts of the world rushed in to make their fortunes” (world history patterns of interaction,2009,pg 778). Countries like South America that are struggling still have a lot of resources because they are to poor to harvest them.”marine fishers are the most important economic activity along south america's pacific coast”,national geographic,N.D., pg 2).Fish are found all over South America and are valuable in places in north America where it is hard to fish. Resources are one thing but there are …show more content…
Trees and the Nile river help South america with its economic growth(national geographic,N.D., pg 1).This means that if America colonizes in south america we are going to be taking away resources they need to be economically stable. South America is already growing faster than they should be so if we were to take their resources they would still be economically stable South America's economic growth over the last half century has made its cities expand fast.(national geographic,N.D., pg 2). South America is almost fully grown economically and does not need the resources to help it grow if that is the reason we are colonizing in the first
Based on England’s salutary neglect toward the colonies, their policy of mercantilism, and the fact that no colonists were represented in Parliament, I would have signed the Declaration of Independence.
In the 1600’s there was the foundations of representative government. In the 1600’s the colonists came up with something called a democracy. A democracy is a government in which people rule themselves. The colonists had voted for many certain laws. They ruled themselves by using the laws of society. The carter named “Magna Carta” was a character of liberties which was agreed by King John of England, it had made the king obey the same laws as the citizens. Protestantism is a branch within Christianity; this was mostly participated during the 16th century. These were people who had reformed certain practices in the Catholic churches. On November 11, 1620 the Mayflower Compact was signed. The Mayflower Compact is a legal contract which was agreed to have fair laws to protect the good.
Austin published the terms of colonization in Texas and Let colonists from the US start to settle on land located on the Brazos and Colorado Rivers.
Colonization was like the game battleship during the 15th century, because the objective of it was to conquer the most land as possible to gain control. It had negative and positive affects on countries but the negative is what people judge it off of, but that should not be the case. Africa and the Europeans is a prime example, in which the Europeans gained control over Africa’s nations. Things changed when they arrived. Looking back on it, the U.S has a decision on whether to colonize South America. The first thoughts on it are, look what they did negatively but look what they did positively. The U.S should consider colonizing South America because it could benefit for both groups. The U.S can influence the wealth of the country, provide better education, healthcare and introduce new and improved technology all in positive ways.
Du Bois in his essay, “Andromeda” he asks two rhetorical questions: “Does the world need Africa? Does Africa need the world?” (Andromeda 144). If we think about the evolvement of America, we cannot forget that America was mainly built on Africa and its riches. It grew into a mere stopping place between Europe and Asia and even a treasure house of gold and diamonds. America developed through African labor; the center of the sugar empire and the cotton kingdom. It became an integral part of the world industry and trade, which caused the Industrial Revolution and the reign of capitalism. The world has always needed Africa in order to gain power and expand their country.
Many countries in South America are struggling right now and the United States are considering colonizing them. Colonizing South America could help the United States and South America in some ways, but can also hurt them in many others. In the 1870's, European countries colonized Africa, and although it helped Europe in some ways, it hurt both of them in many other. Americans need to take time to think about what is best for the U.S. so they can see the many problems that come with colonizing South America. The United States should learn from Europe's mistakes and not colonize South America because it is not fair to the South American's, and it can cause harm to both Americans and South Americans.
The time that it has taken to fully see the Europeans feel successful with colonization can be taken back to the 19th century. Now it all started a few centuries earlier than that and there were many gains and losses for both the Europeans and the Non-Europeans. The Europeans in the earlier years were colonizing differently than what they started to do later during the 19th century and it was also the same for their relationships with other countries. The 19th century brought new views and ways to pursuing economics, politics, and the environment. This time of vast colonization with true success is known as the “New Imperialism” age. A lot started going well for the Europeans, but despite many advantages at the time, they were still not
Weather that has an ability to wipe out tribes, and unpredictable political structure were all hurdles that these gifted farmers has to endure. As Europe was going through an industrial boom, their markets started to expand. Capitalists saw that it became harder maintain the profit at the current level. Outside resources and raw materials that were used for production were needed. Africa was the answer. Bill Rau writes " The increasing demand and competition for both resources and markets among Europe's capitalist economies led them to carve out territories in Africa that offered the prospect of vast mineral and agricultural wealth.(p 29)" What Bill Rau is saying is that, for the capitalist to survive he must maintain a high profit.
Should we colonize mars? In my opinion, we should. In case something happens to Earth, we should colonize Mars. Many people think that humans can’t survive on Mars without food or water but, by the time we get to Mars we may have the technology to either transporting food from Earth or be able to raise crops and animals on Mars.
expert says ‘“Attempting to go mars would be a pricey, risky leap, and would be a waste of a great deal of money”’. Colonizing mars is a terrible idea because it’s extremely dangerous, it wouldn’t be comfortable, and finally there is no turning back.
Sirens cast their spell, charmed we sailed through perilous seas to alien lands unknown. Centuries later they call again, but this time from uncharted worlds out among the stars. As dreams manifest to reality, the possibility of becoming a space-faring species looms just beyond the horizon. The concept of interstellar colonization will come to fruition in the very near future, beginning with the neighboring red planet. Mankind will greatly benefit from colonizing Mars because it will transcend conventional thinking and unite Earth as one people, provide access to unlimited sources of raw materials, and during an event of a global catastrophe preserve humanity.
Going to a Mars is an idea that is heavily debated in society and whether it is worth all of the government dollars to pursue a mission like this. The concept that will be explained is the idea of colonizing mars, as well as the various effects that it would bring upon humanity. This will includes issues such as Mars’ weather, how we plan on getting there, and what the cost to travel there will be. Past endeavors when it comes to space travel will also be discussed The benefits to humanity will also be discussed, and how having people on Mars may protect the human race if a global catastrophe were to occur.
... is very important for the U.S. to keep a close eye on the region, and I believe there is still a lot that can be gained from cooperation for both regions. South America has one of the richest and most adventurous histories of the South Western hemisphere, and quite possibly the world. All though, things for the region continue to improve as South America finds itself on the world stage hosting the 2014 World Cup, and the Summer Olympics in 2016; deforestation of the rain forest and the drug cartels continue to be a growing problem for the region. It is of the up most importance that the countries of South America work together within its region as well as, with outside countries like the United States and China, to strengthen political and economic ties and conservation efforts. That will be the only way to help ensure a better future for the region and the world.
South America is a continent that possesses rich indigenous culture that is still relatively untouched by outsiders. Americans have the ability to preserve that heritage through organized efforts to encourage certain types of visitors to indigenous areas to create an economy that will take the place of potential mining, logging, and ranching enterprises. That economy is ecotourism.
Colonization is when a central government, particularly one with higher power than the other, dominates a specific area of land or country. In history Europe tried to colonize specific areas of Africa, while both positive and negative influences came from this experience, the only changes developed by the African people were generally negative. If the United States planned to colonize South America the end result would overall be negative. South America should not be colonized seeing as the lives of the people would be taken over, or majorly altered, and the positive results from the colonization would only benefit the United States.
