The landscape of professional photography has changed dramatically, in some cases for the good and in some cases for the bad. I have been a pro photographer for nearly 40 years and have seen many changes. When I started in photography believe it or not I used a 4x5 view camera, yes that meant going under the cloth to focus, oh my! We then went to 2 1/4 cameras and now to Digital capture. I was one of the first to go completely Digital in the New England area and for the most part I was happy to go this route because when I did, it was not so bad with pro equipment blowing away any of the consumer based products. Now many pros have gone over to charging to shoot the event and give the client all the files on a DVD as well as all the rights to reproduction, taking the "professional" part of professional photography down a few pegs. Most couples who agree on this type of service will never get a finished Wedding Album or see how great the photos can look professionally finished.

It is more of the same on the portrait side too. Again the consumer thinks they can and will get the same thing as the pro because "this is a really good camera, I paid almost $500 for it". Every industry today has some of these same problems so I hope people will take a bit of advise for any business, let the pros do it right the first time.

Getting back to Bridal Couples. Hire a true professional to capture your Wedding Photos. It is true that you only get one chance to capture the memories of a Wedding Day. Think how absolutely terrible Uncle Charlie will feel if you never want to speak to him again after he completely gafs the only thing you will have to remember your day, that is a lot of pressure. Would you want to be in that position?
