Procrastination Will Ruin You Procrastination is when you have something important to do but you decide not to do it and put off doing it until the last minute because you simply didn't feel like completing this task. Maybe you've gotten away with procrastinating other times so you're confident that you'll get it done. Procrastinating is actually a really bad habit and even if you end up getting it done the night before its due, with procrastination comes consequences. Recent studies show that procrastination can lead to health conditions like the cardiovascular disease which affects the heart and blood vessels. You can also face conditions like hypertension that cause your blood pressure to be unusually high. “Psychological scientist Fuschia Sirois of Bishop’s University in Quebec reports that trait procrastination—that is, a tendency to delay important tasks despite the negative consequences—was significantly associated with having hypertension or cardiovascular disease (HT/CVD) even after controlling for the effects of age, race, educational level, and other personality factors”. People tend to procrastinate in different ways that can affect their health like putting off checkups or avoiding exercise. When you leave a thing like projects to do until the last minute then you're probably doing them later in the day. This could lead to you staying up late. Some people will do anything to get stuff done including staying up all night. The average person should get eight hours of sleep but when you procrastinate you will never get enough sleep. When you don't get enough sleep you are likely to catch every flu and cold that is going around because lack of sleep affects your immune system. Less sleep means more weight. Studies show that people who get less than 7 hours of sleep are likely to become obese or gain weight. So if procrastinate, you may put on some weight. When you procrastinate,
