Music is one the most powerful tools used for human expression; it transcends culture, race, and age and has the capability of stirring one's emotion in a rather distinct way. Music can make a person sing, smile, fall asleep, or relax. For an unborn child, music prepares the brain and ear to listen, interpret and produce sounds. Research has indicated that the prenatal music stimulation is beneficial to both the unborn baby and the mom. The paper shall discuss the importance of pregnant women listing to the comforting music. Studies indicate that high-stress levels might lead increased risk of premature delivery, behavior problems in kids, and low birth weights. Further on, pregnancy stress increases the probability of the child having a cognitive delay, depression, and anxiousness. It is integral that mothers minimize anxiety and stress during pregnancy so that they the mother might provide the infant with an optimal environment in which the infant shall grow (Lullabelly 1). As such, listening to the comforting music relaxes muscles, reducing stress hormones and promotes a state of well-being for both the infant and the mom. For some woman being pregnant can prove to be a surreal experience. Making the connection with the unborn baby can assist in strengthen the bond that one share with the infant (Blumenthal 1).
