Recommended: Solving the problem of poverty

Poverty, a global phenomenon, negatively affects many individuals and families in all societies. A complex issue, poverty is more than simply lacking basic necessities like food and shelter. Impoverished individuals experience social exclusion, a lack of access to health care and education, and overwhelming emotions like fear for the future. Although poverty is a daunting and seemingly interminable issue, individuals must strive to possess knowledge of the causes, depth, and extent of it. With this understanding, one can pursue the amelioration and eradication of poverty. Reflecting analytically on my current understanding of global poverty and expanding my knowledge on this topic will prepare me to make a positive impact in ending poverty. To truly understand the phenomenon of global poverty and provide opportunities for underprivileged individuals to reach their full potential, it is essential for one to begin accumulating this awareness at a young age.

The elimination of poverty is crucial; however, one cannot attempt to abolish global poverty while living in a state of unawareness. Individuals must question both the local and global statistics, analyze the effects of poverty, and reflect on potential causes of this global phenomenon. Without basic knowledge, eliminating poverty is an unmanageable concept. However, although daunting, this complex issue is of great importance.
